Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1: Windows

1 Answer

Windows Media Player - using Vista Videos will open/load with Media Player, but will not play. (There is no audio either). It's almost like the video is frozen. The Play/Pause button does nothing. Videos saved to my PC will play as part of my screen saver, but not through Media Player. I have already accessed Media Player through the Program Files and selected Run as Administrator (only advice I've received) Please help!!

  • Hi, I hope this will help you out. What seem to be the problem is that the Media Players hasn't been use for some time, and may need to be (both) " Upgraded and Updated," There is at least a "Service Pack 2" that you should have running. Do the following: Open the Start Menu window, scroll to find "Windows Updates," select to open; Scan / Check for (updates). This may take awhile, I think you will have quite a few updates, be Patience! "Did this solution help?"

Many video clips recorded by GZ-MG130 were stored in my old laptop (windows XP) and played well in with windows media player. 1)I have now transferred them to my new laptop ...

Hi Rajeeva.

To start try downloading updated codecs for Windows Media player, and install them onto the new laptop.

Use this link to download updated codes:Free-Codecs.com :: Download latest audio codecs

If that is not enough also update Windows Media Player on the new laptop. Link is below.

Windows Media Player 11.

Updating codecs should fix the problem already.

Which dvd player is good to be purchased?? I use original DVDs and copied ones also

I like the kind that can play numerous formats and has a USB slot for movies downloaded from the internet. Sony has always been my player of choice. Panasonic is a good one as well.

WIndows Media Player may not be able to play all file formals.
I recommend you to use the VLC player which supports virtually all the audio/video file formats.
