Question about Televison & Video
Try doing this...Press VCR to put the DVD/VCR in VCR mode. The VCR light should be on. Insert a tape and then start the playback. While tape is playing press and hold the play button(VCR side) for approx 3 to 5 seconds. This should switch the output back to channel 4. Repeat this to change it back to channel 3. The VCR is factory set to be on channel 3 so when you unplugged the power it was long enough to change it back to 3. So remember this procedure if the power goes out! Let me know if this works and if you have any other questions.

You haven't meantioned exactly what you rewired or what the hookup is now? I must assume that you are using the cable connection through the tuner in the tv. Check the rear of the dvd/vcr and make sure the wire going to the tv is hooked to the connection marked out or out to tv and the other wire, cable I presume, is connected to the input to the dvd/vcr. If this is all wired as stated there should be a switch on the rear of the unit marked channel 3 (to left) channel 4 (to right). Slide to channel 4 and you should be able to watch the program on channel 4 on the TV. I also just realized you could be talking about the input to the dvd/vcr, it isn't clear which end you are referring to. If that is what you need to know you still need to check the wiring I just talked about. Is there another device ahead of the dvd/vcr such as a cable box? If so it is probably capable of being reset to a different output. That information should be in the owners manual. Usually it requires going into the menu of the device, finding the output selection and changing it to the desired channel. A better way to get the signal to the dvd/vcr would be using the composite output. If you would like to try that let me know and I will try to walk you through it. Let me know how you make out.
