Sony DSC-W50, 8.1 MP

Some times the camera acts weired, it does not get on. After few times the battery is removed and inserted it gets on. Is the problem on PCB or the on/off switch.

Abnormal camera behavior only suggests internal malfunctions. you yourself already noticed the wierdness. have your camera serviced in an electronics shop.

When I turn on the camera, there is only a white, blank screen?

Try the reset button and removal of the battery while powering on/off to see if that cures the problem. These cameras are well known to suffer from a fractured ribbon cable (which goes from the LCD at the hinge to a pcb inside the cam). Apparently these are still available.

Have a Sony Alpha DSLR-A300K. Let a friend borrow it and she used USB to download the photos to her computer. Ever since she did that, the camera does not work: specifically, all the buttons don't do...

Sounds like when she disconnected the USB cord, she didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function on her computer. You could try a reset from the menu if you could get into it. If not, try a manual sometimes works. Remove the card and every button...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Each time I remove the battery from my Nikon CoolPix 4300, the clock returns to a default of 2002 (in the LCD window the date shows as 000000. Each time I use the camera I have to reset the clock and date....

I probably need more details but, it sound like when you remove the battery to recharge it, the clock loses any power it had. Most people have a second battery. When the first battery begins to lose power, they insert the fully charged battery so the clock is only without power for a few seconds. Try that.

My R607 BMW camera doesn't turn on. I got fresh new battery in it newly charged but when I try to turn it on nothing happens. It's been sitting unused for probably 2 years or so but it worked then so not...

You should reset the camera:
-Hold camera upside down -Open battery/card door -Remove card -Remove battery -Make sure A/C power is DISconnected -You should see a small hole above and to the right of the battery slot, insert a sharp object and press -Re-insert card and battery
If this does not work, try it again a few times, if still unresponsive, the camera may need to be serviced by HP.

Batteries go dead

There appears to be an issue with the S2 IS after two years.  See the reviews on Canon's website:

If yours is two years old then you are probably out-of-luck.  It would probably cost more to repair than to simply replace.  As a work-around, try removing the batteries after use.

C8080 acting weired

The mode dial switch, zoom and power are all on the same ribbon cable. If you can spray some electrical contact cleaner into the crease of the mode dial, power button and zoom lever, it may be enough to get thing going again. I would try this with the camera inverted to reduce the spread of the cleaner. The upgrade process takes about 35 seconds. Make a file called firmware on your memory card, download the .bin file into the firmware folder and turn on the camera in play mode. The current version of the firmware will appear and an OK, press "OK" and the firmware will start to update. Do this after a factory reset as you stated that it was stable for 30 minutes. Good luck. Contact me pishta68 at hotmail dot com if you have any questions. I have 2 and a "half" of these cameras. I think the most current firmware is v757-78

Camera not working

Remove battery for a minute and insert it again.

There is a Battery Type setting in the Menu of your camera.

Do the following:
- Press Menu/ Ok button
- Go to Set Up 2
- Scroll down to Battery Type

Two options under Battery Type:
- Alkaline- if you are using non- rechargeable battery
- NiMH- if you are using rechargeable battery
