sorry about the lack of info, but my TV is played in s-vid all the time, the component started going slowly a few months ago, seemed to get a little better as the tv "warmed up" but now its hard to see much thru the lines. At first I thought it may be the Monster cables I installed were tto tight and maybe something broke when I installed them, tried several different cables and tried it in oth jack sets to no avail. I even had the cable box replaced and the cable coax replaced. so we started using the s-vid, but as I said before, started comming in cartoonish looking . not sure if Comcast cable is having issues but I'm sure the component cables do have some sort of problems. Appreciate the answer, but hopefully this info will help you get a better Idea of the problem and you'll have a solution. Thanks Rob

I may need more information but my first suggestion would be to check the inputs to make sure all the wires are firmly attached and all wires are hooked to the correct inputs. Typically when the screen looks cartoonish in component two of the colors are reversed or one is missing. Ideally you should get a new cable and attach it being positive it is red-red, blue-blue, green-green. The other possibility is that the device you are feeding the tv with has lost a color at the output. You can check this by hooking a different feed device to the cable (one you have proven has all three colors) and trying it to see if the picture is ok. Let me know if this solves your problem.

Sounds like you have eliminated the cable issues so if you are positive the wires are on the proper connectors you probably have a problem on the video board. There is a long shot the box is bad but then I wouldn't expect any outputs to work. If you have another TV with component in you could eliminate this issue. If the output is good from the box, the wires are good, and they are on the correct inputs the only thing left is the video input board. Try these sites or or and see what the board costs. It may be cheap enough to be worth trying. Let me know how this works out.

Where is horizontal output ic in my t.v?

There is no horizontal oscillator IC. The horizontal oscillation is generated and outputted by the main system control IC LA76810 itself. Refer some circuit diagrams using LA76810 to get more details about the horizontal oscillation output from the IC. Measure the frequency at that output pin. It should be some ever near 15.62KHz.
If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.
Type in the IC number, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window, and press enter to get all related posts. It will make surf easy.

Horizontal ine in CRT tv

Failure of the horzontal linerity coil, possible dry soldering on the board of the components- resistors and capcitors- in the horizontal coil circuit . Also failure of the deflection coil- YOKE- in the crt. So check the coils and the circuit around this section as the rest of circuit seems OK.

I have a purple line about 2inch thick horizontal through my screen

Tricky one as it could be one of several possibilities.

Faulty mobo.

Video driver corrupt / try reloading vid driver off manufacturers site.

Connecting and recording sony hdtv, rdr-hx780 recorder, sony dream system

I have the same system, except for the TV, I have a project (that part doesn't matter).

From your Sat. go straight to your AV receiver
Again from you Sat. (all of the AV outputs are all live), go out from either 1 or 2 and go to your recorder Line 1 in.
From you AV receiver go to your TV.

All you have to do is hit record and you will record whichever channel you are on. I am having difficulty getting it set up as a PVR, but will figure it out sooner or later.

Hope this helped.
