I am not sure what you mean. Sorry. They are connected with scarts and the video is tuned in to channel 6 on my TV. ?

Scarts are leads that join the VCR to the TV.I have tuned the VCR to channel 6 and all channels are fine except the Sky channel with is not good quality.

Is the TV set on Ch 3 or 4 or are you using Line in/aux?

TV needs to match the VCR output; that is , either 3 or 4. What are "scarts"? The VCR should be tuned therefore to 6 ....accordianman

I have a Hitachi VT-FX665 VCR. It has a picture, but no color.

Could be caused by dirt on the video head, poor tracking, which can be adjusted, or a fault in the colour circuit.

Tape cleaner tape for the head. Press the tracking controls on the remote and you will need to see a repair man for the last one.

Can not get to hook up ot tv

Your new TV is digital. Your VCR is for the obsolete analog NTSC broadcast standard. The two devices are totally incompatible. There are converter boxes available. The quality of the playback will be very poor compared to the picture you now see on your high definition digital TV. The NTSC picture is made up of 525 lines. The best home VCR reduced the resolution to about 350 lines. Your new TV is very high resolution by comparison with a much larger screen in all likelihood. The large screen will exaggerate the poor quality. The process of sending the signal through a converter box will reduce the resolution even more, although digital enhancement with a computer or a dedicated device can marginally improve the results. In the end, you will probably be very unhappy with the resulting picture. If you have video tapes you need to convert them to a digital format using DVD or BlueRay disks, for example. Once converted, you will need a a BlueRay or DVD player for playback to your TV. There are devices for making the conversion or you can send you tapes to a company that will covert the tapes for you. If you do a google search, for video to DVD conversion services, there are many choices. I would suggest that you just have your tapes converted to archival quality DVDs. The sooner you do it, the better because tape degrades in a relatively short time. The tape has a sync track along one edge and as the tape stretches (they always do) by just sitting on the shelf or being played, the player will no longer be able to play the tape and your memories will be lost forever.

I would like to know how to connect a dvd player through my samsung vcr the inputs in the back i am not familiar with there are two sets of yellow white and red connections with one side for output and...

Connect from dvd OUT to vcr IN
The yellow connecter is video, red is right audio and white is left audio.
You can purchase converter leads (scart to phono(the red/white/yellow connecters) or many other combinations) if needed.
If you have scart connections ( a block of 21 pins) then use that if possible as it will give a better picture.
Connect the dvd out to vcr in and vcr out to the tv in.
NOTE. if you connect this way you will find that the copyright protection will make viewing dvds quite poor quality and may even be black and white or even the picture may "roll"
You may want to buy a scart block to connect more scarts to the tv then it has, also you can get these with different connections.

VHS Tape on Sanyo Doesn't play on other VCR's

the heads on the sanyo vcr may slightly be out of alignment from years of use.when playing a recorded tape from this vcr to another, the other vcr's alignment maybe right on track thus causing the poor quality.you can possibly try cleaning the heads with a head cleaner or a high grade blank tape, but i don't think this will solve the problem. but you can try.
good luck
wg
p.s also try higher quality tapes to record on.

Reception quality

first you have to check if the problem get solve by conecting the supply sourges(cable dish or ant.) direct to the tv..if the problem get solve then try cleaning the vcr head with a liquid use head cleaner becouse a littel snow means that the problem is a littel dirty head or a broken one..also there is a chance to a mayor problen and in that case yes you have to take it to a tech...good luck if the problem persist when you conect the sourge direc to the tv then check the terminal conector if ist ok then notify you sservices company for the problem..
