Motorola Q Motorola Flash Mode Bootloader Version BOOT_C_03.05.00R_MPAP CONNECT USB CABLE This is what my Q is saying when I turn it on. PLEASE HELP ME FIX IT!!!

When you get this error on the Q is usually means that your unit is fried. was the unit being charged when this happened. I have seen several units with this error. All of them happened while they where plugged in directly to charge. I would recommend using the stand alone battery charger.

Have you tried removing the battery? That is usually the first step on this type of problem. Has the phone been damaged in any way? Liquid dropped etc? Any of those may also play a part. If the phone is still covered by warranty the best bet may be to take it to your local service center if taking the battery out does not fix it!

Your system software / firmware has become corrupted. You need to download and install replacement firmware for your phone. You need to choose the correct firmware for your exact model and service provider / carrier for it to work.

I wrote fixya tip on how to do this a few months ago, the links are below. But don't use the verizon firmware unless verizon is your carrier - get your carriers firmware from Motorola's MotoQ website.

Or, just take it into your service providers store and get them to do it.

I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q.

What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence.

This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware.

The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.)

If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times.

My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone.

Have you tried a Master Re-set when the phone is off? Hold the center key and the power button for at least a FULL minute to a minute and a half. You will see the provider's splash screen, but hang tough.

This works best with the device on a flat surface rather than holding it.

boot_c_03.08.00r_mpap Paul Sager from FixYa has posted a solution for this problem previousley (as below). I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows.
