Other devices with a yellow indicator means two things:

1. Other Device is an unknown device to the computer - if you know which device it is and have a driver or cd for it, set it up

2. The yellow indicator means the device is not working properly.

You should remove the device and then select the add hardware section this will restart the process of adding the device where you can specify the device, manufacturer and driver.

You can check the other properly loaded devices to see which one you are missing. For example if there is no network card specified, it may be the one listed in other devices.

Good Luck, leave response please.

Dell error code 31

Open Control Panel and then Device Manager (or System, then Device Manager).

Look for a yellow balloon, this should show you which device is giving the Code 31 error.

Then you need to fix the problem by re-loading the driver.

What is error code 651?

I have fixed mind through following steps, OS Windows 7. This works if you can still use cable internet, so that system can download the driver.

In my case there was no wifi utility, no connections detecting, no bars IIII.

Solution:

Please note it is mostly to do with your network drivers, if you go to device manager under the network adapters, you will see network controller marked in yellow. Dont worry.

To make your wifi connection work please complete the following steps:

Goto:

Device manager > trouble shooting ( column 3 , second last row )

Now under " Hardware and Sounds" heading go to configure a device.

It will start trouble shooting automatically, and try to download and install the right network control driver.

My system is using: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller and after downloading the driver. I have now following installed.

Realtek RTL8191 SE802.11 b/g/n Wifi Adapter ( this was missing )

Now when I go back to device manager I have both are functioning and after reboot I automatically connect to the wifi. So everything is fine.

So my advice to all whatever make is your PC / OS , do go to device manager and try trouble shooting.

For those who have found this solution helpful, please email me: manny.nlAThotmail.com

Goodluck!

Spilled a drink on my lenovo2373, it turns on, winxp reboots but my internet connection is gone

check into the device manager to see if the lan card is still present ...or the wireless what ever you use to have on ....
if used to have a LAN cable Ethernet connection and it is not present in the hardware manager ..(device manager ) it is a problem detecting it or it is dead...
to go to manager ...just right click on my computer ..properties...than hardware and device manager ..there u will have a picture about all that it is on ...working ...what it is not present and it should be its not detected or disabled...and what is in yellow..with an ask sign has no driver anymore ...try first to right click on it if you find the lan card in yellow and update driver ...if it doesnt find it ..just insert the driver or reinstall it from where you have it ...
if you can not find another Lan card ...and is dead...check for the moment if your wireless is still functional ...and use it for connection ...just buy a cheap wireless router and install it in the wlan at home ...and you will have 4 ports with internet on cable ..and wireless to use with the laptop ..until you get another lan card to match...
lets hope is nothing that radical...and it just need a reinstalling ..it also may be still wet ..and cause dysfunctions.....gave it time ...and check it after you reinstall the windows in final...
anyway ..to get a router if u will have to use the wireless..will cost just about 30 bucks on ebay ...

Windows WiFi Fix,
Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.
Windows XP:
Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Ethernet not work

Check in the Device manager to see if all the devices are enable and working.
The one with a yellow ? against that device requires a driver installation.
Is the LAN device OK?
How do you intend to setup your LAN, is it for Internet access or a home network?
I need more information on your problem, together with error messages.

I ve compaq c700 c772tu lap top...it does not have wifi software

You should be able to download drivers (the programs that make the hardware work) from Compaq from this site. You'll have to transfer them to the laptop via flash drive or other such device, and run each file needed individually, following any instructions. To be sure that you have drivers for everything installed, you can right-click on "My Computer" and select "Manage," then go to "device manager" on the left pane, which will show you all the hardware that windows sees attached. Anything with a yellow exclamation mark (probably) needs a driver - double click on it to see more information.

Vista Premium wireless network callapse

Go into device manager, under control panel, go into network adapters, select your wireless adapter, right click on it, click uninstall, if you're with vista, it'll prompt you to delete the drivers, just leave that box unchecked then click ok. After the adapter is gone, click on action on device manager then click scan for hardware changes. The wifi adapter should be re installed. after you check that the wifi adapter is back on the list, you can exit device manager. Click start, connect to, try to reconnect to your router and it should work fine. After you have established internet connection and you can browse, you can download tthe Skype program again.

Hope this helps
