Hi,
you can check out the prices of new pumps very easily by following this tip.

If you need to have it installed you will have to find someone in your area to call and get a quote, labor prices vary greatly in different areas of the country.

How to fix The OE error code means "Outlet Error" The drain pump is either clogged or the outlet hose is kinked.

Hello Karim;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You have a expensive transmission drive dishwasher. Next time do not buy a transmission drive, then you may be able to access and replace parts yourself.

So, here are the parts and parts cost:

1.) Dishwasher Pump Assembly. Part cost: $170.00.
25697616-s1sviqltkhbgubmgxrmnjfot-1-0.jpg 2.) Dishwasher Sump. Cost: $37.00.
25697616-s1sviqltkhbgubmgxrmnjfot-1-2.jpg 3.) Dishwater filter. Cost: $65.00
25697616-s1sviqltkhbgubmgxrmnjfot-1-5.jpg 4.) Dishwasher Mesh Filter. Cost: $27.00.
25697616-s1sviqltkhbgubmgxrmnjfot-1-9.jpg So, lets say I am not retired from Sears Home Services and I came to your home on this service call.
Standard charges are the cost of the part marked up to twice the part cost. Labor for this job, several hours would be about $300.00+.

Do not call a service company. You are looking at a repair cost of over $700.00.

Purchase a new unit. Not transmission drive. Search; "Sears Outlet Stores". These are scratch and dent stores. You can save several hundred dollars and receive a one year warrantee. Stay away from transmission drives, LG & Samsung units.

Wont drain

check to see if anything is clogged inside the drain line, if not the pump motor assembly must be changes out, some had five yr warrantys check ur manual, usually cost for pump motors are 200-400 so it might be cost effective to buy new if u undo the drain liine and cant locate a clog or remove debri from inside,, u can try to remove stuff from the pumo if u can remove the components from inside middle.. hope this helps

Water will not drain

First, check for blockages.

Check the bottom of the washer for any broken glass, paper, plastic etc that can be blocking the drain.

Then check the hose and where it dumps into the homes main drain system.(Typically found under the sink attached to the garbage disposal or drain off the sink basin)

If the garbage disposal is bad or clogged, it can cause the DW to not drain as well.

If you have no blockages, then you likely have a bad pump.

If that's the case, check to see if the unit is under warranty.
If not, it is not uncommon for the cost of replacing a pump to approach the cost of buying a new washer. Especially if the washer is quite old or a near base model.

The parts alone typically cost 60 to 120 bucks. If you have to pay a tech to perform the labor, expect to pay between 175 to 275.

It is much easier to replace a DW than it is to replace the pump. So if you are unfortunate enough to have a bad pump, my advice would be to buy a new washer, and install it yourself.

I will be happy to help you with that as well.
(It's basically two hoses and three wires.)

Please don't forget to rate this solution.

How to change a GE dishwasher door seal

I had the same exact problem TWICE....second time I'm replacing the dishwasher. There are two rubber boots at the bottom of the door that just sit and the door seal is supposed to seat into these rubber boots but if you take out the boot you will see that it is misshapen and therefore leaking. These boots cost about $10 dollars apiece from GE on line. I replaced them once and same problem. I was going to replace the gasket that runs around the door but it costs $50 and I'm not SURE it will fix the problem. I'm on my way right now to buy a new dishwasher....they're not that expensive compared to pumping money into something that you don't know if it will work. Good Luck.

Welcome

My advice now a days is :

It's really not advisable to fix a dishwasher that old.
It's putting good money into bad!

Here is an article I just read that you may find interesting.

Repair or replace?
When to pull the plug on your dishwasher

Typically, you'll also find a troubleshooting section for more-serious problems in the owner's manual and on the Web sites of many manufacturers.

Should you pay for a repair or buy a new model? The answer depends mostly on the age of your dishwasher, how much you bought it for, and the cost of the repair. Follow these guidelines from our in-house experts:

When a repair makes sense. If your dishwasher is under warranty or less than four years old , paying for a repair makes sense. Note that dishwasher under warranty might require service from a factory-authorized technician; readers have found them on a par with independent repairers.

When a repair might be a wise choice. If your dishwasher is out of warranty and is four to seven years old, it might make sense to pay for a repair. Readers paid $100 to $200 for a repair. But you might want to buy a new model even at this stage, given that today's models are quieter and have added features. They pay for them selves in only a few years due to higher energy efficiency which is another plus: Energy Star-qualified models made after April 28, 2008, are 43 percent more efficient than conventional models built before 2001 and 56 percent more efficient than those built before 1993.

When it pays to replace. The repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new dishwasher. Our data also show that it doesn't pay to fix a less-expensive dishwasher six or more years old .
Thanks to better recycling programs, less than 10 percent of a dishwasher you replace is likely to end up in a landfill.

Thank you for using our services to advice you.

Dishwasher not draining

Hi James:

What a coincidence. I am having same issue in my GE washer and I called a handyman. He came, checked through to make sure there is no blockages and concluded it is the pump. He said it is going to cost 350-400 and recommended I buy a new one instead.
