Updating a slot loading iMac from OS8.6

AS Above I recently purchased a Macbook notebook computor and was informed that I would be able to update my old iMac with the OS software.
HELP!

    Yes I was told by the salesperson at a infamous Computor Superstore that I would be able to use the OS C.D's to update my old iMac, theold machine doesn't even seem to recognise the discs

Unfortunately, The disks may be DVD, not CD. You might be able to do the install by networking the iMac to the Macbook and using the laptop's drive to read the disk.

Asked to update I Photo. Upload failed. Now I Photo won't open with message that it is updating.


This was a known issue with the app store for a while. Try restarting your machine and continuing the download later.

i used to run into this when i was in school. im pretty sure its something to do with the server settings allowing non-administered computers that are running on the server to send out connections or mail for some reason. so im guessing the solution would be where ever you created the server from

Run Software Updates (Apple Menu in top left of screen > Software Update). There is an update that fixes the document canvas now showing anything. You can tell the document is loading because you can copy and paste form it or look in the Inspector and see the word, page, and character counts.

Hello! The MacBook Pro you have mentioned can only support 4GB's total. 2GB's in the first slot, and 2GB's on the second slot.

What you may have seen by accident was that you can purchase either a 4GB kit, or a 2GB kit. Meaning a 4GB kit with 2 2GB sticks, or a 2GB kit with 2 1GB sticks.

Your best bet is to go with a 2GB stick in each slot to max out your MacBook Pro. 2GB's is the largest each slot can read.
