Question about Car Audio & Video
The noise is a soft, high-pitched piercing squeal that appears to come from behind or beside the drivers right ear (RH drive). It has a regular pattern, coming on for about 4 seconds every 30 seconds or so. The noise somes on and off in this pattern whenever the engine is running and the sound system is turned on. The noise does not occur when the engine is not running. So basically I can only listen to the stereo when the car is stopped with the engine off! The car is a new MY 10 Audi S3 and my Audi dealer has not been able to solve the problem after 5 months of trying. The amplifier has been replaced but it made no difference.
Have you or your dealer tried an inline noise reducer? It worked on my truck. Worth a shot. Good luck!
