If you check on your machine, there will be a switch or dial (depending on model) that also has a blue color. That is probably for stretch stitching. You will have to change the switch or dial to the stretch stitch setting and then you will get those stitches. No need to change the needle plate. You will only need to change to a ball point needle if you are stitching on knit. Otherwise a regular needle will be fine.

machine out of time. theres a mark on needle bar that aglins with the needle bar guide. when u have the needle in this position u have to loosen the hook ( 3 screws) and place the point of the hook just meeting the needle. before u try this try lowering the needle slightly.

I have a janome 8050 sewing machine. It has started making loose stiches underneath and making a noise. I have changed the needle, bobbin, thread, cleaned the bobbin area. It will not make any stiches at...

The key to proper stitches is that tension on the bobbin must equal the tension on the upper thread spool as well. The bobbin has a tension screw that may have come loose or the thread is not properly in the tensioner. For example, the bobbin could be in backwards. Or the tension of the top could be too light and allowing the tension on the bottom to pull the thread down too much.
Open the bobbin tray and watch while you slowly rotate the hand control to see it make a stitch.
You will probably be able to figure out what is wrong.

Are you saying that the stitches are not locking and that you can pull the thread out easily from the seam?

If so, its a tension issue, check that the bobbin thread is clicked into the tension spring, when you pull on it it should be firm but let you pull it out gently.

Check that you have a new sharp small needle in, size 60 or 70 for silks and flat shank to the back. Push it fully up into the needle holder and do up the needle thumb screw.

Rethread the machine, and test sew again.

I hope this helps you a little. Your machine model is not available in my country but this is general advise for all machines.
