After JUST 17 months!!! display shows "SCANNERFOUT" (dutch). Switch off and back to on. After a while again the same fault message! and nothing, no knob is reacting then, only the on-off switch. Who is familiar with this problem? pls react. MZ Netherlands.

If you installed the "HP Support Toolkit" software from the CD-ROM that came with the printer, use this Toolkit to "run a cleaning cycle".
It can print a "test" page, to show you which colours _do_ work, and which do _not_ work.
If all else fails, then find a qualified printer technician.
your second set of catridges mush help you,, and also,, it seems that your operating system is corrupted,, its better you reinstall the printdrivers first,, if problem persists,, then try reinstall of windows..
