SOURCE: automatic defrost no longer works

If freezer is icing up, you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

My frost free fridge freezer is working but flashing de on the front. I'd like to know what it means

Error codes are brand (and often model) specific. "de" likely indicates something in the defrost process, especially on G.E. Check for ice build-up in the freezer cooling coil. The control board would be suspect, but must be checked to confirm the precise fault.

The top part of the freezer compartment is warming up and setting off the alarm. Liebherr 7080 207-01 model

I also had defrost problem with Liebherr 7080 207-01. I removed freezer back panel, I defrosted all ice with hair dryer, but the freezer is not done for manually defrosting!!! You may have problems removing the back panel (I was not able to remove it with a screwdriver and i decided to pull it beaking the plastics supports and thean I put it back. It is a shame !!! Now it is working much better. I think this will be my last Liebherr freezer!

I have a Liebherr 7082. Since there was an ice build up in the freezer, I defrosted it. Since I completed the defrosting, the refrigerator will not turn on.

Is there a fuse in the mains cable. Suspect electrics got wet during defrost. Allow to dry thoroughly before switching back on.
