Question about D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router
Tearing my hair out here. Cannot get through the (wizard) installation process. Also I don't understand, (during wizard instal diagram), why the ethernet cable from the back of the cable modem goes into blue port 1..?? Why not into Internet port as per written instructions somewhere else in the manual..?? I haven't been able to get past this 'Searching for router' stage. Thx anyone out there...
You setup the router with the Ethernet cable always plugged in.. UNTIL you are finished configuring through the Ethernet cable via your browser. Once WiFi SSID & passwords WEP/WAP has been finished, AND you had another WiFi card in that PC the Ethernet cable was also connected to... well, THEN, I guess THEN, you may be able to disconnect the router from PC & then connect it again Wirelessly. But whats the point? But until then you won't find your router ON the Ethernet port, it would then be trough the WiFi adapter.. and that would have to be activated to work. Hope this clears things up
