Hi,

Set your resolution from "Display" which you can find in control panel. And fix the resolution at 1280 by 768.

Regards

Ashly

I cant find driver for my flat panel monitor Dell E172fp for windows 7 64 bit... It is a big problem... Can someone help me? Sorry about my english.

It is a "plug-and-play" monitor, which is fully-supported by Windows XP/Vista/7, in both 32-bit and 64-bit modes.

What manufacturer of computer?
What model of computer?
Desktop or laptop?
Use "Control Panel" and then "Hardware" to view the details about the video-card.

I have recently added a new Dell E171FPb to my computer .. I am running windows 7 connected to an onboard videocard (motherboard model : Gigabyte GA-8SIMLH) .. this monitor is only allowing me to view...

That is one of the reason I did not upgrade my PC for testing monitor to WINDOWS 7. This monitor is old and Dell will not make new driver for Windows 7, but Microsoft may be releasing the drivers later on since a lot of people is having problem with their perfectly working monitors but will not work properly with WIndows 7 because they cannot adjust the resolution to be at the native resolution of the monitor.
Microsoft WINDOWS 7: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Default.aspx?type=Hardware

Not much you can do at this point unless you can try hacking the old Dell driver to make it works with Windows 7.

Installed windows 7 on a dell sx260 with gem 17 lcd cant get display drivers to work?screen all dis colored

Try going to the Dell or Microsoft Websites and loading a new display driver for Windows 7. When I first got Windows 7, both my monitor and printers required new drivers for Windows 7. It seems that Vista and XP drivers for a lot of things don't work on Win 7.

Good Luck

Over Range Signal

OK, you need to boot up in safe Mode, then change your screen resolution, to say 800x600, or 1024x768, this will then allow your monitor to operate, IF this doesn't work, then you will have to swap out, the Monitor and VGA card to find out which one is faulty.

I can't get the screen up. I see its plugged in

Does it work with Desk top PC OK?
When you use it with laptop, you need to use Fn key and either F4,5,6, or 7 depends on your laptop to select how the display will work: both, extenal ony, internal. Please post back.

My monitor LM17sb develops red dots in the grey areas which come and goes. Can I fix this

It sounds to me like there could be a short-circuit developing in the panel, or the wire that connects the monitor cable to the inner panel, since it comes and goes. I hope that monitor is under warranty. If not, you can either accept that the monitor will occasionally short, or you can replace it. Fortunately, you can get 17 inch lcd monitors for about 80 bucks, rather than 150 just a few years ago. Currently, there is no way to fix a broken or shorting monitor without replacing it or having it repaired.

Signal out of range

1: Signal out of range meas the monitor can't handle the input refresh rate. lcd and Tft monitors usually supports 60 and 75Hz refresh rates.
2: The Resolution you are using to view the desktop is too high, this number is depending on the size of the lcd monitor.
a 15" lcd usually runs with: 1024x768 with 60hz
a 17" lcd usually runs with: 1280x1024 with 60hz some of them supports 75hz.
a 19" lcd usually runs with 1600x1200 or higher.

I recommend reading the user manual if you have it, or checking the information on the manufacturer's website.

3: As a solution turn on your computer and after it passes the bios screen press F8 and select VGA mode.

This will enable 640x480 (standard vga) resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, after windows boots up you can change thease nmbers , and windows automatically asks for turning to 800x600 60Hz.

If you want to change the resolution go to: Right click on your desktop, select properties , select settings tab, and adjust the resolution on the bottom of the window.

Hope this helps, good luck.
