No sound on GVG DV-995 DVD Player

I got this DVD player 4 years ago, i've never needed it until now. Just connected it up with the scart lead. Perfect picture, but no sound, i've checked the scart lead, even tried another one, but no success, even tried restore factory settings. Can anyone offer any helpful solutions, apart from get rid of it? Thanks.

Are you using a scart lead to connect to tv try changing lead as some times scart leads don't have all the pins I prefer to use scart leads that have all the pins in them and make sure they are firmly pushed home also check settings on tv as some tvs allow you to mute av plugs

Hi i have an alba tv , im trying to connect a dvd player. I have connected the scart leads etc.I can not get onto the av channel so i can watch a dvd. Please help

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

Regards,
BElectric

I have a DV player, plugged into the AV2 scart socket but it will not start. The DV player works on another TV set. Do I need to programme it into my Bush TV no:WS6680SIL?

I tried the DVD payer and the scart lead on another TV and so discovered that it is the AV2 socket that is faulty. I am obtaining a quote for repair, in the meantime I can connect with the little cololoured leads instead of the scart.

Toshiba 3960 dvd player no sound

The most common causes,
1, bent or broken pins in scart lead.
2, faulty scart lead(internal wires broke)
3, mis-connected( audio out from dvd to audio out on tv.)
Just go through the list and if you have a known good scart lead, swap over to test.

Connecting tv to dvd player

It should be fairly straight forwards.. Simply get the SCART to SCART Cable.. Connect up the Two, DVD to Screen, turn them on, selecting any input/outputs Format etc, setups from any Menus...then start player select "Play" & ya should see the Picture & hear the sound...
