After a number of tests, still have washed out color from my Lenovo Netbook and proper color from my old Averatec Notebook. I have a USB software switch that swaps the keyboard and extra large monitor between the two computers and a separate USB switch that swaps the printer between the two computers. I've run the same photo between the two computers and also changed cables on the printer switch so as to make sure the problem is not in this switch. Nothings changed. Print from Lenovo washed out, from Averatec is good.

I still could swap cables on keyboard/monitor switch if you think this is worthwhile.

    Thanks

My second try at sending added info. to "Guru".

Tried your solution #1 including cleaning registry. Did not help.
Swapped connections to printer on USB switch and tried again. Did not help.

Also have a USB switch that swaps keyboard, mouse and external monitor between the two computers. I have not tried swapping these cables since they have nothing to do with the printer or printer cables.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Issken

No, I have XP on both computers, service pack 3. And I just thought of something else. The washed out color predates the installation of my keyboard/mouse/monitor switch installation, so that has no bearing on the problem.

I just plugged the printer directly to the Lenovo netbook and it's still washed out.

I then checked all the XP printer settings and could not find any errors.

And this washed out printing occurs on all application software from browser to photos.

    Any ideas?

Hi,

From all the comments you wrote about the problem, its quiet sure that there is no problem with your hardware switches, printers and cables. So only place where the problem could be is softwares and drivers.

Soln:1# If you have any live bootable linux cd/DVD, use that to boot your system into linux and try printing in linux. because in this way linux will automatically configure your printer with suitable driver. If your printer prints well, then its sure that the problem is with printer software/driver. So go to your printer manufacturer website, downlaod and install the latest driver for your exact printer model.

I hope this might help you to solve the issue
Thanks

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble printing with your MP830. The big questions is what version of Windows are you running.

If you have a new netbook then most likely you have Windows 7 but your notebook has Windows Vista or Windows XP. So what you will need to do is go to Canon's webpage and make sure you have the most current driver for the version of Windows you have.

Let me know if you have trouble finding it and/or if you have any more questions.

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. Had not had any extra computer all week.

I would like you to try a test for me. Plug in the printer into the Averatec and while both laptops are on the same network setup a shared printer. The link below will help you setup the shared printer.

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r3913921-se...

Next have the Lenovo do a print job through the shared printer and let me know if you have the same problem. If you do still have the problem then most likely you have a drivers and/or Windows problem.

My Canon MP830 prints only colors, not blacks?

have you checked the ink levels? sometimes the black runs out before other colors because it is used more commonly.
it could be that the device is unable to detect that it has no black ink and therefore will not notify you that it has run out.
i suggest trying a replacement ink and seeing if that solves the problem, if not, then there is a problem with the hardware of the printer.

My Canon Pixma MP258 printer can't print the red color but other colors are okay. When I print out any words or pictures that needs red color,it becomes green color.I don't know what's wrong...

Solution

1. Press START - Devices and Printers
2. Right-click the Canon MP258 series - select Printing preferences
3. Click Maintenance - Cleaning
4. Select All Colors BK, C, M, Y - Execute
5. Wait until the process is finished (Do not start another operation until the cleaning has finished).
6. Click Print Check Pattern OK

If the results print out like this, there are two possibilities:
1. Red ink in the cartridge runs out. Solution: injecting with red ink
2. If the red ink has been filled, and check pattern is still not out, meaning the color cartridge error.
Solution: replace the cartridges

I just installed a Canon mx300 on my Mac (runs 10.4.x) and all seemed to go well. I can print but the black letters don't print black (actually, the same happens if I have colored text mixed in). It's...

If the colors in your document don’t look right, you can change whether colors are managed by ColorSync or your printer.
To change color management options for printing:
Open the document you want to print.
Choose File > Print.
If the Print dialog contains only two pop-up menus and some buttons across the bottom, click the disclosure triangle beside the Printer pop-up menu.
Choose Color Matching from the print options pop-up menu.
Select one of the following options:
Select ColorSync if you want the application you’re using to control the color management of the printed output.
Select “In printer” if you want the printer you’re using to control the color management of the printed output.
If you select ColorSync and don’t believe the correct profile is selected for your printer, you may be able to change it. If you see a Profile pop-up menu, choose Other Profiles from the pop-up menu, and select a new one.
I hope this info will help to sort out your problem..Regards

How do i charge the acer battery

Hi patron,

The trouble you are having with your Acer One is a known issue with the programming on the motherboard, you can download a free fix and install it from Acer.

Go to www.acer.com then select your region, click on service and support, then drivers & downloads. Use the box menu to select Netbooks, Aspire One, then the model # on the bottom of your netbook.

It will display a list of drivers, above them in faint print click the BIOS tab. Your Bios upgrades will be listed there. Download the newest one and follow the onscreen instructions that come up.

Once you complete this process and reboot your netbook will start charging it's battery.

I want to know which wire goes where on door switch on a servis 1300rpm washing machine as i cant get in touch with the person who took the switch off it has three wires two red and one black

Most older machines had only two wires so it didn't matter but if yours has three there should be a print either inside the control panel or on the back of the machine. Don't be afraid of the simple print. It will show and label the lid switch and show the wire colors. You just have to make sure THE POWER IS OFF THE MACHINE when attempting any repair.
