This was good advice. Although it was not what I wanted to hear, since I will have to replace the camera, but it gives me information to make a decision. Thank you.

A capacitor is not holding its charge so a repair must be done. The part in inexpensive but labor will be high enough so I would invest in a new recorder if this has many hours on it

    Thanks for your response!!

If the battery is Fine, it seems like this is an Electrical Fault. You might need to Send the Unit for Repair. If you have experience and the Unit is out of Warranty, i would be able to Guide you to Fix this. I would try to Find the Service Manual,if possible and then you need to have Tools like Screw Driver to Open the Camera.

Before that, let me confirm - Do you see any Blue Screen? Have you tried to Clean the Head as well. If not, try it and let me know the progress.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

It says improper shut down then freezes up and turns itself off

First make sure your PS3 is powered off and unplugged.
1. Plug your PS3 in.
2. Now hold you power button on the ps3 down, you will hear one beep, followed by another 5 seconds later, and a third one 5 seconds after that. After that the PS3 power light will turn red. You can now let go of the button.
3. Hold your power button down again, you will hear one beap, followed by another beep 5 seconds later, and then you will hear a double beep 5 seconds after that. After you hear the double beep, let go of the power button.
4. Now some words will come up on the screen saying to connect your controller.
5. You must connect your USB cord to your ps3 and connect the other end to your controller.
6. A selection menu will now appear.
7. Select the option "3. Restore File System" and press X.
8. Now follow the on screen dialog and once the restoration has completed your PS3 will be back to normal.

Please note: Following this guide will leave your Game Data and Save Files intact, you do not need to worry about this process deleting your Save Files or any other data. Your ps3 will be just like it was before it messed up.

My ps3 turns on and shows the wavy background for the home menu screen but no menu icons show up. Nothing on the controller changes anything and icons never come up. The wavy colored background is there...

This problem is because your PS3 software has become corrupt. The following steps will cure the problem but you will lose saved games and all other data. Your trophies will not be affected as these are stored by the Playstation Network.
Step 1. Turn your PS3 onto standby (Red light on)
Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it, beep 5 seconds later then beep once more 5 seconds later and then turn back to standby. Release the power button.
Step 3. Press and hold the power button again. It will beep when you first press it, beep again 5 seconds later and then beep twice quickly. Let go of the power button as soon as you hear these two beeps.
Step 4. The PS3 will start up asking you to plug in a controller with a USB cable and press the PS button. Do this and it will boot into the recovery menu.
Step 5. Choose option 5 (Restore PS3 system). This will re-install the PS3 software and restart the console.
Step 6. When the PS3 restarts you will be asked to enter the time and date and other information. When the setup is complete your PS3 will boot into the home menu normally.

Hope this helps

Ok, this solution will erase your save games and any other data you have on the hard disk but not your trophies.

Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you touch it, then beep again 5 seconds later, then beep once more and go back to standby (red light on again).
Press and hold the power button again. It will beep as soon as you press it, beep again 5 seconds later then beep twice quickly. Let go of the power button
The PS3 will then ask you to plug in a controller with a USB cable and press the PS button. After you do this a recovery menu will load.
Choose "Restore file system"
Follow the on screen prompts and hopefully this will sort out your problem

I found this on the APC website;
Question: What would cause a Back-UPS Pro, a Back-UPS Pro USB, a Back-UPS RS, a Back-UPS CS, a Back-UPS LS, or A Back-UPS XS to beep once every 5 seconds with no output power?
Answer: One beep every 5 seconds is an indication that the UPS has entered what is called "Low Voltage Sleepmode".
The Back-UPS product has transferred to battery power due to a low voltage condition at the wall. The Back-UPS has remained Onbattery until its runtime was totally exhausted, however, there was still enough voltage present at the wall to trickle charge the battery.

This is considered to be a normal operating state. When the voltage returns to normal the Back-UPS will wake up and restore power to the battery outlets.

Was using the laptop (dv6426us) and it just cut off. Was plugged into outlet with power supply, no warning messages prior to that. Now it will not power on at all, no lights, no beeps, nothing. If I unplug...

First, measure the voltage coming out of the power supply. If it is good (specs will be on the power brick itself.) then this sounds like a short on the motherboard. To eliminate all else, remove anything that is removable (hard drive, CD/DVD and RAM). Leave the battery out also. Plug in the power supply and see if it beeps. If not, you have a bad motherboard. If it does beep, replace the ram. At that point, you should be able to see POST. If you get nothing, it is the ram. Keep adding until the problem resurfaces. The last item added is the culprit.
Good luck.
