A company called Bromic/Ambro supplies the best knobs. You can contact them on their website. This of course should be done only if the knobs are out of warranty. Or else contact hemantk@bromic.com.au. I think he is the sales engineer over there.

Is there any way to replace numbers etc that have worn off a gas cook top?

several:
1. If its sill available replace the control knobs.
2.Contact the manufacturer.
3. There are pens that are fine point acrylic paint that you could write them on with manually. There available at Walmart or any craft supplier.
4. Possibly vinyl graphics.

New Maytag MGC7430 gas cooktop leaks gas when lit

First it could be leaking from the control knob when it is on . There could be a leak at the base off the burner letting out gas or on the burner line . You need to get back on to your installer or where you purchased the cook top . This basic gas fitting leak detection .

The burners light, but it takes an inordinate time for them to stay lit. One of the burners will not stay lit when the knob is released, regardless of how long you depress the knob.

Need a new fsd ( looks like a small brass pencil) for the burner that won't light. The alignment of the ignition electrodes needs looking at and there over all condition I. E broken , worn , misaligned ect

One igniter produces no spark. is it bad? can i

Looks like you may have a bad ignitor. Try adjusting the arc gap. Sometimes of the ignitor is too close to the burner, the ignitor will not spark. It may also be that te burner is dirty and needs a little cleaning to allow for the electric ignitor spark to arc accross, thus producing ignition. Good luck.

One knob does not light and its ignition is not working. The rest of the knobs are working fine. Thanks

You have ignitor issues. If there is a spark on your other burners but not this one it is the wiring, the switch (if the sparking doesn't happen with this burner) or the gap is worn. If these hints don't get you to an answer...get a pro in to look at this.
