Check underneath if u can remove sometype of grill there is a drain pan below possibly the drain tube that empties into that is not positioned correctly........ possibly a defrost problem if that tube is okay...... which means the drain hole from which that water comes from inside the unit usually behind the back wall is clogged or iced over.......could be a defrost timer, defrost themerostat, defrost heater, u might need service to determine what part is faulty hope this helps

Water leaking from inside the freezer

if the bottome of the freezer floor is frozen then the most common cause is that the defrost drain is cloged, the back wall will mostlikley need to be removed and defrosted, then i use hot water & a long zip tie to make sure the drain is clear, don't use anything too hard as to punch a hole in a drain hose.

Good afternoon........ I have a top mount frig.. we bought it in 1998. The frig works great..... The only problem we have is water seems to built up on the inside bottom of the frig.... I know it is not...

Hi Dan,

It sounds like you have a defrost drain issue. An annoyance to say the least. To repair you will need to clear the defrost drain as it can get a build up over a few years of use. On a top freezer model you will need to unload the freezer and remove the back panel, be sure the power is disconnected by unplugging the refrigerator.

With the back panel off you will see a set of coils that resemble a radiator in a car, below that coil is a pan that slopes to a hole the size of a dime, you may not be able to see that hole due to the ice build up. Clear the ice with hot water and towels to clean up the mess. Careful not to use anything sharp or damage the coil.

Once the ice is gone use a turkey baster to flush hot water down that dime sized hole until it flows clear, you will know when it is.

Reassemble and enjoy a water free frig.

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. GE side by side by side, water drips from bottom freezer door

I have the same problem. Just talked to a friend that's a great appliance repairman. he said I have to remove the panel in the back inside of freezer and there is a drain that gets clogged up, a little hole or tube.
clean that and should work fine and stop leaking. I haven't had time yet, but this weekend I'll do the deed. Hopes this helps ya!

Leaking water

test: first, turn off water supply to frig. then dry up all water. then ensure frig is running at right temperature. now gradually turn on water and observe where leak is. My guess is it is overflowing the ice-maker. there is an adjustment for this. pop off the cover over the end of the ice-maker. look for a screw adjustment. turn it counterclockwise.
