Hehe, i understand.. the repair is expensive
try this first

  1. disconnect the ac adapter and the battery
  2. reseat the RAM or memory if you can, if not, its ok
  3. without the ac adapter and battery, press and hold down the power button for 7-10 secs
  4. reconnect the ac adapter and the battery
  5. try turning it on again
hope this helps//

Vaio fs920 will not connect to wireless internet

I'm assuming you are still using WinXP on this machine? If so make sure you have Service Pack 3 installed since XP doesn't have native support for newer wireless encryption standards like WPA2.
If you are using WPA2 encryption on your network then try setting it to an older version like WEP and connecting that way, if that works but not with WPA2 then you don't have the extensions for the newer encryption protocols installed that come with Service Pack 3.

Hallo, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 2847 and I get unexpected shutdown in a different intervals. It may be for example 10 minutes or 3 hours after the Windows starts. The system is ready to start...

It could be that the machine is overheating, if it's shutting down. Try ensuring that the vents are clear of obstruction, and that they are clean. If you can get to the cooling fan, then ensure that this is also clear. Don't use the laptop on your lap, as this tends to block the cooling vents as well.

It may also be worth checking to see if you get any error messages before it shuts down - in case it's something different (although I know that Windows 7 doesn't have an SP2 yet - so are you using Vista, or 7, SP1?)

Instal in XP

Hello, This external hard drive does not need a driver, even in XP. If you're using a desktop, don't connect it to the usb ports in front of your CPU case, instead, connect the usb at the back USB ports, if this doesn't work, try using a shorter USB cable and connect it again at the back.

My SerifDrawPlus X3 reboots unexpectedly after I apply image effects to an image...reads "program closing windows 7 is trying to find solution to this problem" - can you help?

This could mean your PC overheated, had a error or another problem causing Windows to force it to shut down. Is the fan in your PC working right? If it isn't working (correctly), buy a new one. If you don't know how, here's a good guide how to. If it is working correctly, a error might caused it. If so, Windows 7 will find a solution for it. Check the white flag next to the internet and volume icons. If these to are not the case, your PC might doesn't have enough memory to hold image effects and too less RAM (Memory) could cause a unexpected shutdown. Don't hesitate to ask me more! Thanks for using FixYa, and have a great day.

Acer aspire 5000 unexpected shutdowns, random, fan running.

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have you cleaned out the airvents and fan area. these build up with dust and if the unit gets too hot it will shut down unexpected

Also always use on a hard surface so the airvents are kept clear

thanks

4 Port USB 2.0 Smart Hub Pro with Power Supply Part No. 42999

Slap a voltmeter on the Power Supply for the USB Hub and make sure it is still working. It really sounds like what happens when you connect a device to a unpowered hub that is not capable supplying enough power.

The server shutdown approxmatly every day

if the log says that the shutdown was unexpected, then I'd suspect a power outage at that time. If you're using a managed PDU, check to see if that outlet (or the whole pdu) is set to power cycle. If you have more then one power supply, I'd recommend plugging them into different pdu circuits. If you're pluged in to a UPS, suspect that the UPS is cycling and that there's no UPS management service running. If you're plugged into (yikes) the wall, suspect building power.
