Usually fuses have voltage and current ratings mark on them you just have to look for it or sometimes near the fuse housing.or you can use the formula power consumption of the unit divided by the voltage rating of the unit. I (amp) = Power(watts) divided by Voltage(110V) X power factor(PF). use 0.866 for PF

I need to know what amp fuse i need for my yamaha htr5840 receiver. i pulled out the blown one, but it only says 125 v. it does not tell me the amps.

The power consumpyion for yor amplifier is 350W / 440VA and the 2 switched AC outlets at the back panel can handle up to 100W, totally 450W. I suggest you to use a 5A / 110V fuse and in case burn down use an 6A / 110V fuse. DON'T INCREASE these values, you may damage the amplifier.

I've got the KLH 10 inch sub and it keeps blowing fuses. Essentially, as soon as I turn it one, it will humm and then blow th fuse. Is this fixable at a reasonable price?

This can be due to either the integrated power supply system or the amplifier itself. As a tecnician I can imagine the possible faulty components and I guess that the cost isn't too big. But since I don't know your area I suggest to ask from a technician at your area to check the subwoofer.

I have a klh 116615p bg11 12 sub and need to know the watagew it doesnt say

This woofer was taken from a KLH Pro-71 Series. These were the top of the KLH line from ~94-99 when it was still a real company and not just a name. The woofer is rated for 5-350 watts at 8 ohms. Source: KLH Pro Series-71 Spec Sheet.

I own a KLH R7000 receiver and need to know what kinda fuse i need to replace mine? thanks for your help.

Take the top cover off with the unit unplugged, you will see the fuse just beside the big capacitors, diodes and the power transformer(and fuse current rating is written on the board) . The problem with your receiver is worse than a fuse I suspect. So, before replacing the fuse check for short circuit. If there is a short circuit specially power amp section(which is common to fail) the problem might get worse when you rplace the fuse without checking it. :)

Klh reciever

You do not know what you have to replace. You test the component on board, starting from the amp, you need a multimeter and service manual schematic to do this.
After finding faulty component you will need to use solderer and thermal paste to replace it, and you need experience, or you end up damaging the board.
Ave you done anything like this before?

I am going offline now, if you have more queries I can answer tomorrow

thanks

Klh home receiver problems

It is not a fuse problem, when a fuse is gone does not start at all.
It is probably the final amp circuit, there is a faulty IC in there that overheats after few seconds and the unit goes off by itself.
