You can change the way the cursor functions. Here is how. From the "Start Menu", select Control Panel in the (right pane), next select Hardware and Sound, select the "Mouse". In the Mouse, "Properties" (window) change mouse functions.

I can move the cursor but the click dose not work on my toshiba lap top could u help make it work i tryed to us the f 9 key but dou have to do somthing elseafter pressing f9?

I would use a USB mouse to get into the control panel, mouse properties and check that the buttons are enabled. If that does not work you may need to download and update the driver from Toshiba's web site, located here.

Hello,

For you to check if it has a backlit keyboard press Fn+Z or go to start/all programs/mytoshiba/utilities/HW setup/and there should me ilumination option. If none of this works, it only means that your laptop does'nt have that features.

Cursor is frozen, tried allsorts to solve it. Nowt works. Using mouse with usb cable, works fine. Synaptic logo from bottom right of screen also gone. Tried system restore and it works until I log on...

Sounds like a driver issue with the touch pad. You should try and reinstall the driver.

I am not able to connect through internal wifi(wireless) network device in my Toshiba Satellite L505D Laptop. I am able to connect net through a external USB wireless network adapter. What is the problem...

Locate the wireless switch and turn it on? if it is on you might need to reset the modem from your service provider. Just go and hit the reset button on the modem or turn it off completely. Power it up again and make sure that the switch is turned on if you have one for this lap top some are automatic.
The switch is usually located on the left or right front of the lap top housing in the front or on the keypad. You may have to push the FN key if the key is blue highlighted. Hit FN and press the wireless key if applicable. Make sure all is on and switched then reset the wireless modem or connection.

Turned on the computer, the mouse/cursor froze; removed battery pak; didn't work; tried FN F9, didn't work; what now?

I'm assuming that you have tried all the F8 boot options and none worked.
If the keys don't work then the hard disk is completely corrupted - if you're unlucky its because the hard disk itself failed. You probably will need to boot in the BIOS (F12 during start) and set it to boot from USB. Then find a USB cd-rom and use it to boot from a Linux Live - CD: use it to find out if the hdd is still functional. If it isn't then you will have to replace it , then reinstall Win 7 using a disk that you can borrow from a friend and your key.

Press Shift key 5 times, and then go to settings, uncheck "Use stickykeys" "use filterkeys" and "Use togglekeys", to do this, use tab key, arrow keys and space to uncheck. Apply and then "Ok. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.
