This usually is and idication the the drain hole is plugged and needs to be clean out.
the unit can also be going into a defrost cycle to many times in a day.you need to check all the door seals and make sure there is not any air leaks
that will cause the ridge to run longer and build up more frost on the evaporator.
if you have water and ice in the fridge you might also have a leak in the water supply line or filter housing.
the water will freeze fairly rapidly on the bottom of the fridge faster because that is where most of the cold air stays.
i hope this helps with you problem.

Hi,

The drain tube is located behind the freezer panel.

Take this panel off and you will see the drain trough full of ice.

Thaw the ice and try to clear the drain. it goes down into the drain pan under the fridge by the compressor. You will see the tube just above the drain pan. That tube is blocked , Once cleared pour hot water and vinegar down the drain to make sure its clear.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Leaking Refrigerators
Leaking Refrigerators
I hear a lot of complaints from people that see water leaking into their refrigerator from seemingly nowhere. Water appears in different places and even inside or under a refrigerators that does not have a water or a ice dispenser! Frost free refrigerators defrost the ice that collects on the evaporator coil on the average of about every 8 hours so the water that accumulates during defrost has to go somewhere right?

Whirlpool refrigerator--water freezing in floor of bottom freezer then leaking onto floor

whirlpool bottom freezers with ice forming on the freezer floor is nothing new. It is formed most likely by an ongoing issue with the design of the defrost drain becoming clogged and there is a revised kit for it part# W10619951.

Whirlpool has extended the warranty of this issue only to two years from the date of purchase and will usually give you the part but charge for install.

It can be put in in less then 10minutes using just a 1/4" hex bit and a small flat blade screwdriver to release the clip on the old "slide" style drain.

Once installed,it is best to defrost the fridge for at least 24 hours (doors open and unplugged) to make sure all ice is melted from inside the unit.

If your drawer was not closing, you would have frost.. If your defrost timer (which virtually no newer units have since digital controls are the norm with adaptive defrost) then you would have frost, not ice.

The fact that you have water is telling me it is defrosting and re freezing.

List a model# for further support if needed please

Why is water pooling in bottom of fridge under veggie drawer.? Also freezing ice cubes in back part of cube drawer

Just above the veg drawers at the back is a channel that collects water when the fridge defrosts. It has a hole to drain the water which is blocked and the water is pooling under the drawers. Clear the hole with a drinking straw.

Water is pooling under the veg/fruit drawers..cant tell where its from. Freezer temp is uneffected, temp appears fine, no condensation anywhere on refrig or contents...The first I noticed it was a week...

Your freezer goes through a defrost cycle and drains the melted ice ,somewhere the drain is clogged or iced up .Look for a little hole or hose coming into drain pan underneath and trace up.Might have to take back off.

Frosting & water dripping from freezer in Frost free freezer

Hi, You will find that your problem relates to the defrost heater in the freezer. You will need to take the drawers out and remove the back panel to access the evaporator. There is a foil heater that lays underneath the evaporator and it will need to be changed. Along with the klixon that controls it. This will ensure that both parts are good. Your problem will then be fixed no more water!
Good luck................
