"Fdl" is a door latch error code. This could be an indication of a door latch failure, or a defective relay on the Central Control Unit (CCU) that controls the door latch.
First, inspect the mechanical parts of the door latch assembly to ensure there is nothing caught inside the latch on the right side of the door frame, followed by checking to ensure the door catch (on the door) is still intact. If a physical inspection shows the latch is still in good shapem, you need to inspect the internal components. Make sure you UNPLUG the washer before servicing inside the unit.
Remove the top panel of the washer by locating and removing the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will sldie back, then lift off. You should be able to access the electrical connections on the door latch assembly and CCU (the CCU is located in the top center of the washer behind the wash tub - this is the main computer board). I would begin by checking all the interconnecting wire connectors between the CCU and door latch to ensure the connectors are all seated properly. Unplugging them and reseating each one can help.
.
Test operate. If you still have problems try lightly tapping on the CCU with a screwdriver at the point where the door latch connector plugs are located. There is a small relay on the control board that sometimes sticks. If the problem persisists, there is a tech sheet inside the appliance that explains all the error codes and how to troubleshoot them. I mention the tech sheet because it lists all the required test points to rule out whether or not the problem is with the CCU or the latch itself.
Remove the lower toe panel directly below the door. The access screws are located under the bottom front edge. You may have to prop the two front feet of the washer up in order to access them ( a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. The tech sheet should be located directly behind the lower toe panel, or affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls.
