You've got to get the little spring in the back to touch the metal part of the back of the watch for the sound to work! I had the same problem and now it works fine, soo happy!!!
"Place the back the same way as you have found it. If you aren't sure, firmly press the back to the case between thumb and indexfinger and turn around the module. The lettering must be according to it's case position. If put upside down, it will not only be un-aestetic, but there is also a possability that the alarm and EL won't work when the back is put up up-side-down."

I hope it helps

Me too - new battery just gone in to my Casio G-ZX model 2625(?) and it no longer makes any sounds - there is nothing in the manual to tell to turn the sound back on. Any ideas? Has the jeweller stuffed something up when changing the battery?
Changed the battery in my g-shock 3110 and now get no beep/alarm function. please help as need it to get me up out in Iraq on Op Telic!
I have a Casio 2454 G-shock watch. Just changed the battery and now I have no sound - for nothing! Manual does not address this issue. what now?!!
Same problem. I had my batteries replaced by a jewler. He said it wasn;t anything he did... I emailed CASIO, of course, no reponse.
I guess I'll send it in to be fixed, and bring the jelwer the repaitr bill.
