How can i downgrade my ver 6.10 software psp????

Hello there

Download MPH Downgrader and Firmware version you want(e.g 1.50) to the Windows-based computer. Connect the PSP Slim to the computer's USB port using the USB connector. Transfer the two programs to the main folder of the PSP Slim. Disconnect the PSP Slim from the computer's USB hub when the transfer is complete.

Turn on the PSP Slim. Go to the Settings/USB Connection in the Home menu and select the EBOOT.PBP file in the PSP\GAME\UPDATE update folder. Extract the MPH Downgrader zip file to the root folder of the PSP. Click OK using the X button if you are prompted that this will replace some files.

Go to Photo/Memory Stick in the Home menu. Wait as the screen goes black and numbers appear. Wait two minutes and then press and hold the power switch until the PSP Slim turns off. Release the power switch.

Wait as the PSP Slim turns on and reboots. Go to Game/Memory Stick in the Home menu and select PSPS Update version 1.50. Press the X button to start the update.

Wait as the update finishes and presents an error message. Press the O button to restart the PSP.

PSP On/Off Switch Broken

It may make a person without hardware experience a bit nervous to do, since you'll need to disassemble part of the PSP, but it is not all that difficult. Of course if your PSP is still under warranty, might as well get Sony to fix it. Otherwise, doing it yourself should take 20-40 min. This guide shows you some of the steps you will need to follow:

From that guide, removing the power switch board only really requires steps 1, 2, and 6. In summary, you need to unscrew 5 screws to remove the back plate, then pop off the bottom button bar, and then disconnect the 2 connectors from the power board, remove the board, and swap the new board in. If you have trouble reconnecting the large motherboard connector back to the power switch board, you may need to remove the LCD as well.

Dealextreme has a good price for the power switch circuit board part:

Hi helghast,

If your PSP is working all but the display, meaning you can here the sounds of clicking past the menu items when you press the D-pad in different direction, you have a Backlight burned out. This is a very complicated task to replace your backlight without good training and knowledge of the internal construction of your PSP. If you have never replaced the LCD in a PSP, I highly suggest getting it repaired professionally.
Click on "Repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. Then on the next page, Click on "Video Game Consoles" Pick a good Repairman that has experience working on PSP's. I would not use any repair guy who has never replaced the LCD in a PSP.

Psp problems

Hi Milez,

You probably have a power switch board failure or connection problem. Where the battery connects to the PSP clean that with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Also see what you can do about cleaning the battery connectors the same way. If that doesnot fix it, you may have a cirucit problem inside. Click on the "Repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. In the directory click on "Video Game Consoles" check with the repair shops that Fix Playstations to find a good deal on fixing it. Good luck
