Okay, do you have another lens available you can try on your camera? Alternatively, try your lens on a different camera. You may have to go to a camera store and do some sweet-talking, especially if you didn't buy the camera there. What you want to do is try to determine whether it's the camera or the lens that's faulty. Then, if it's still under warranty, get it replaced. If not, then it's a little harder...

Try cleaning the contacts on the back of the lens and in the mount on the body and see what happens.

Rom dos not red cd

First check to see if your CD-ROM drive is detected in My Computer.
If it is detected, it could be that your CD-ROM drive lens is dirty. You can clean it using a CD lens cleaner available on the market. The more risky one is opening your CD-ROM drive and clean the lens using a cotton damp in a little alcohol, it works for me.

Switch on camara, lens opens then closes leaving lens error ! on screen. them camara switches off ??

The systems control board has detected a malfunction in the lens "probably the ccd circuitry" in the lens housing and should be checked out by a camera technician, but you will find it is more than likely not cost effective to repair.

I have a emachine laptop and it wont load cds, dvds or games whats wrong with ut and how can i fix it

you have to verify if your DVD rom is detected in bios. Restart your computer and press F2 during boot. check if you see the DVD Drive is detected. if yes, exit and boot to windows if no.. your DVD is not detected and might be a motherboard issue or your drive needs to be replaced.
you can also try to clean your DVD lens with cotton or use a DVD lens cleaner

Error hpdesigjet 5500

The error is reported because the positioning point of the main spooler cannot be detected. During self inspection upon startup, the plotter needs to detect the starting point of the positioning main spooler, namely, the Mark point. If this is not detected, the above error code is reported. SOLUTION: Replace the Lens Cover If the Lens Cover of the pen carriage is polluted during the operation, reading the Mark point will be affected. Therefore, replace Lens Cover via the menu operation. First, access the printer Setup Menu, and then access the Utilities menu. In the menu, select:Lens Maintenance option. Now the pen carriage of the printer will move out automatically, and prompt you to left the upper cover. Take out the standby Lens Cover (in the sponge of the upper cover of the printer), and then take out the old Lens Cover (below the right side of the pen carriage) on the pen carriage, and replace with a new Lens Cover. Restart the printer. If the printer does not return to normal, contact the local gold-level service center or HP800 technical support center.

Camera lens wont open or close after being dropped. it won't turn on and take pictures

Lens error is usually caused by mechanical faults concerning lens assembly. The lens cannot extend or retract fully, the error is detected and lens error is returned.
Sometimes this can be fixed playing with the lens during extraction or retraction to help the lens asset getting back to normal.
More often the camera lens must be disassembled and re-assembled by a technician to fix the problem.

Camera will not recognize the lens

Hi, I have a Minolta 7D. I bought an M42 screw lens adapter, an almost flat plate, however the camera kept saying "no lens detected". Then somewher on the web I found a solution: On the menue screen I found "Shutter Lock" with the choice On or Off. By switching to off I can now use 42mm lenses. Though there is no AF and the metering works with setting the aperture manually. Good luck and maybe you find the Sony to be the same.
