If you are using scientific calculator; there must be a symbol " ^ ". It is for power.
You can use it like this... 2^12=4096

If there isn't any such symbol... then it won't be easy.

2^12 = 4 ^ 6 = 16 ^ 3 = 16x16x16 = 4096

I hope this was helpful.

How do I do feet and inches calculations on the Casio FX-115ES Plus? For example, how can I do calculations like 10'-3" + 5'-4" + 11'-11" without having to convert the inches to feet?

Calculators work to base '10' not base '12', so you'll have to convert. the S.I. unit of measurement is used for calculators which is metres and they are base '10'. The metre was calculated by a french bloke who got the calculation wrong, but they still use it. Feet and inches are better.

To calculate the natural logarithm of a number, enter the number and press the LN key. To calculate the natural logarithm of a calculated result, simply press the LN key.
To calculate the natural logarithm of 3, press 3 LN
To calculate the logarithm to any other base, calculate the natural logarithm and then divide by the natural logarithm of the base.
To calculate the base-10 logarithm of 3, press 3 LN / 1 0 LN =

Using the correct key combination to determine inverse log

Hi,
Sorry to contradict you but there are many types of logarithms, the most important ones are
  1. the common logarithms (log in base 10),
  2. the natural logarithms (logarithms in base e)
  3. the binary logarithms (logarithms in base 2)
On calculators, the common logarithms are labeled [LOG], and the natural logarithms are labeled [LN].

The inverse function of the natural log function is the exponential (e^(x)), and the inverse of the log in base ten function is the function ten to the power of. It is called (sometimes) the antilog

Ex:
Question What is the antilog of 3.5678?
Answer The antilog of 3.5678 is 10^(3.5678) = 3696.579068
Verification: log(3696.57908) =3.5678

Hope it helps.

How to use the Logerithmic function on this calculator

Hi,

Logarithms in base 10 :Common logarithms
  1. The calculator has a key labeled [LOG]. It allows you to calculate the common logarithms (logarithms in base 10).
  2. To calculate the common logarithm of a (positive) number you type in the number, press the [LOG] key .
  3. Ex: 15.32 [LOG][=] gives 1.1852558765
Logarithms in base e : Natural logarithms
  1. The calculator has a key labeled [LN]. It allows you to calculate the natural logarithms of positive numbers.
  2. Ex: natural log of 15.32 is entered as
  3. 15.32 [LN] gives 2.729159164
Hope it helps.

How do you tak the square root of 64 or the 4 root of any other #

Hi shiny_diamon
Here is a picture of the powers and root functions of your calculator.
1.To calculate the cubic root of a number you use the key combination shown on line 5
Ex: Cubic root of 27
27 [2nd] [3 root x] [EXE]; Should get 3
2. You can use the general root key on line 7 [2nd][x Root y]
Ex: Cubic root of 125
125 [2nd][ x Root y] 3 [EXE] Should get 5
(-125) [2nd][x Root y] 3 [EXE]; Should get -5

3. You can also yse the general power key on line 6: [Y to x], but the degree of the root is entered as a fraction 1/3
Ex: cubic root of -125.
(-125) [Y to x]( 1/3) [EXE]; You should get -5

4. The [Y to x[ key is the one you use to obtain all other roots fourth, fift, tenth, n-th.
Ex: Fourth root of 256
256 [Y to x] (1/4) [EXE]: You should get 4

5. To extract the squqre root of a number you can use the key on the 3rd line [root x] or the general power key on line 6 with exponent 1/2
Exemple square root of 256
256 [Root x] [EXE] should give you 16
256 [Y to x] (1/2) [EXE] should give you 16 also

Hope that helps.

I just want to find out how to use the simple functions of my desk calculator, ie. add, and multiply in one operation and so on.

Usually you enter the first number then you press the key ( +, -, x or /) corresponding to the operation you want to perform and you press the equal sign (=).
ex: 15+3=18

Often you can perform the operations one after the other without bothering with the intermediate results. You can do so provided you respect the priority rules: parentheses, powers, multiplication/division, addition/subtaction...)

Hope it helps

I'm trying to calculate base number equation

Hello,
You are victim of a confusion between terms. Base-n calculations are calculations using various numeration systems (bases) : binary (2), octal(8) hexadecimal (16) and decimal (10). What you want is how to calculate powers, logarithms, exponentials and these have also the notion of base; Log in base 10 is the common log, whereas natural logarithms, are logarithms in base e.
Back to your exemple: 5 times 5 and raise the whole to power 3?
In that case [(] 5 [x] 5 [)] [^] 3 or [X to the 3] if you have such key or
25 [^] 3, because 5x5 = 25

5 times (5 raised to power 3)
5[x] [( ] 5 [^] 3 [)] or 5 [^] 4 because of the rules about products of powers with the same base.

Hope it helps.

In any scientific calculator log2(n) can be  calculated with either ln or log function as follows

Log2(n)= ln(n) / ln(2)

Or
Log2(n)=log(n) / log(2)

both will give nearly the same answers
