You can easily replace it yourself.... with the websites that are on the internet these days. i am just after fixing a sony ericsson c902 which both carphone warehouse and sony ericsson said was beyond repair. i had a lot of problems with that hone including the screen, charging port, motherboard and M2 card holder. you can very easily fix yoiur phone and dont let anyone tell you other wise, i will be more than happy to help.

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. The board needs to be replaced.

I am sorry for your loss. Depending on where you go the price varies but one thing is for sure...it will be expensive. I would advise either buying a new phone or finding one on ebay being sold for spare parts.

Display problem due to track break in mother board

First rule: Never handle ANY electronic devices WITHOUT
wearing your (ESD) anti-static wrist-straps... EVER!

It could be more damaging than a cesspool would ever hope.

If you are not adverse to purchasing from eBay: China sources there (free shipping) sell cases, screens batteries up-to whole un-locked GSM phones for under $20...

Having no personal knowledge of the NOKIA 2700 motherboard... I am just assuming that it is a multi-layered board (not actually suited to solder/trace repair.

I believe board replacement would be cheaper... and since I am seeing NEW PRODUCTS (with free shipping from China... my opinion (with extensive back-ground in water-recovery of electronic devices... ...Minutes & hours is possible IF ALL POWER IS IMMEDIATELY REMOVED... immediately field stripped into smallest components, contaminants removed (washed)...
Then DEHYDRATED for DAYS... you MIGHT have something worth saving...

but...

Untreated for Days... and as you said "WEEKS" you are assured to have corrosion, electrolysis & galvanic tinseling on the PCBs alone...
Connectors, batteries, switches, jacks and $4 displays are simply not worth the effort...

Whole-phones on eBay.

Sorry.

If you think you want to TRY to save your SIM Card...
wipe it completely clean with a 90% isopropyl MOISTENED (only: soft/clean) cloth. Take a SOFT (graphite) pencil and gently (smoothly) draw on each contact completely.

Repeat the 90% isopropyl MOISTENED (only: clean) cloth wipe down and let it dry.

Take a clean toothpick and put a (NEARLY invisible) SPECK of white lithium grease on each SIM contact...

Wipe it all off with a clean cloth... You are now free to TRY to use your OLD SIM card under your new contacts (keeping in mind that SIM has been WELL beyond any/all design considerations... and can damage its NEW host)... I'm just saying.

Good luck.

My nokia E7 was not charging properly because of loose connection in the phone. I gave it to Nokia care for repair, but he says that the mother board has to be replaced.I want to know if he is right...

I don't think, due to charging problem the solution is to change the motherboard. For charging problem there are several tricks to repair. The cost for changing the motherboard will as similar as buying a new phone with the same model. So, my comment is to visit another mobile repairing shop.If there is a loose in the charging interface it can solve by changing the changing socket or you can see another solution from this Nokia E7 Charging Problem.Good luck

Why has the slide mechanisim become stiff on my sony erricson w995

Could mean a few things, normally it's because either something has become wedged in it, sand etc. or the spring mechanism has corroded due to liquid damage.
Take it to a local repair shop and they should be able to look, a new spring shouldn't cost alot...

Hi,
Supposed to be, it can be repaired without replace the board. Your circuit board / motherboard is can be replace with new one. But the price may be already half of your phone price. Regards,

Heyi have a sony ericsson W995 mobile it has been working fine all day but now it suddenly says insert correct sim card i dont know why its happened.

hi ive had exactly the same problem as you and when i took my phone back to 02 they said it was water damaged, i have since sent it off for a repair with another private company and they have said they are 95% sure its a software fault due to the way my screen was turning black and then saying insert sim, but i shall let you know when i get it back if it has fixed it or it could be something like the sim card reader but please dont be fobbed off saying its water damage they shall just drop a bit off water on the water tab and say its beyond economical repair

Phone fell in water

Most likely something got corroded inside of the motherboard, shorting out a component or two. Your only solution will be to open it up and clean it with a soft toothbrush or something similar. If that doesn't work, I guess you'd have to replace specific components on the board and that's no easy task...
