The battery leak can be cleaned using a solution of water and baking powder/bicarbonate of soda: dissolve a couple teaspoon in half a cup of water, dip a cotton ear buds/disposable napkins in mixture and use to help clean the corrosion from the terminals and then finally do the same with clean warm water(to neutralise bicard reaction) and dry wiith clean tissue. Hope it helps!

if you put the battery termanals on nothing would work and you will probably blow the battery check any way but unlikley also check alternator as this is why the battery light comes on make sure leads are tight putting a little grease on the battery termanals stops them from furing up but get alternator checked thanks ivan

I have a 96 infiniti i30, my car is not turning over... the lightson the car will turn on but there is no sound of turning on the engine. We took the battery and starter to the auto part store and they are...

I still think you need to clean your battery cables better. You are not getting a good ground.
That means the part where the battery termanals connect to the cable. Scrap the battery termanals positive and negative post and make them shiney. Let me know if it does the trick. The Raz

Same problem. 1992 nissan kingcab with v-6. starter and battery good-had them tested. Wires clean. new ignition switch-needed it. turned over once, once only still clicks when key is turned. Help

By wires clean do you mean battery termanal wires?
This sounds way to much like the battery cable ends need to be cleaned. Not only the inside of the termanal ends but the posts as well as take the ends off the cables and clean the copper wires where they connect. Then follow the positive cable to the solinoid and check connections coming in and going out to the starter. Check where it connects to the starter and tighten if needed. If none of these does the trick will it start with a jump? If not will it start with a push if it is a standard shift? Let me know how it turns out, Good Luck, The Raz

Wont start just clicks..... new starter insatlled and battery....

It still soundslike the connection on the battery termanals are not contacting. Re-check them. If the termanals are corroded on the inside of the lead cable ends then take apocket knife and scrape them out. You mght need to do this to the battery termanal studs on thebattery as well. Make them shine with the clean silver color lead has. If after this it still just clicks then you may need to take off the battey cable ends and clean thecopper on the cable as well. after that is completed and the cables are back on thebattery and it STILL won't star thenit istime to move to the next step. See if it will start with a jump from another vehicle. Though you have anew battery you may have a short some where that isdraining the voltage out of the battery. Check your dome lights and make surethey were not turned on and left on.
If ajump start will not get it going then the next step is to locate thestarter and while someone is trying to start it tap on the starter with a hammer or something you can get a good solid tap with. If it starts you havelocated the problem. It may work for a while even but you should plan on getting a the starter replaced. It it still does the same thing as beforethen if you have a stand shift model you can try push starting it. Automatics do not work well doing the push starting. It takes an automatic somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 miles an hour to get an automatic going and that is just to dangerous. So if you have an automatic then skip this part.

The thing is if it does start by pushing thestandardtransmission type you still havenot corrected the problem.
It still may be the starter and or solenoid on the starter. You may need to replace it any way if all the other test have not corrected the problem.
For the most part it sounds like theconnections on thebattery termanals and Ihope this fixes it. Be sure to follow the battery cables backto where they are connected to the chassis and see if theyhave loosened up. Tighten them if this is the case. Good Luck,
Raz

If the corrosion worked its way in to the circuit board, you have 2 choices.

Get it repaired at Canon or somewhere else.

Buy a replacement.

When the lights are on check the battery voltage. Should be 13.0 to 14.5. If you unplug the connector on the alternator when the lights are on, do they go off?

it could be a lot of problems from the battery, battery cabals to the alternater. check to see if the battery post are caroted and needs cleaning. if sow remove the battery cables off of the battery then you can use baking soda and water which will help remove the corotion and nutrliz the acid on the battery posts. then clean the battery post and battery cabel clamps with a wire brush. if it is not the battery post take the car to autozone and have them see if thay can test the battery and altrnater on the car to see if ether one of them needs to be replaced
