Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40 Digital Camera

1 Answer

The camera keeps vibrating by itself

I got my camera few weeks ago and whenever I turn on my camera, it starts vibrating by itself. I don't know exactly what's happening, but something inside the camera starts shaking. When I shut off my camera, it stops. So when I try to take a picture, it comes out blurry since the camera is shaking. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

If its vibrating i would think its something mechanical. this isnt my forte but it sounds like when you turn your camera on the lens covering opens up and for some reason the gears that open it continues to rotate. if your comfortable about tearing things apart look in that area. better yet since its new let the warranty take care of it. this is not a solution just a hunch. let me know how it works out im curious.

I barley ever use my kodak camera sine christmas like 2 years ago and i have enigizer bunny bateries in it and i dont know if it hasd a charger but i need help cause the screen turns black whenever i use...

While let's start here if you rarely use it please don't leave batterys in it as they will rust and pop open. Batterys have acid in them and will cause a bad connecting when installing new ones. Are the batterys rechargeable or just regular batterys if so I would start there.

We had this problem with my wife's T300 and recently had it repaired under insurance - a new pcb was required.

Sony Alpha A100 shakes when I turn it on

It's actually, believe it or not, an anti-dust mechanism. All Sony Alpha A100's (mine included) do a little shake/vibration to help keep the dust off. It's nothing to worry about unless it lasts for more than a second.

White LCD screen

The LCD connection may be loose or the LCD itself broken. You may need to have a service centre replace the LCD unit.

Vibration when using the Sony Cyber-Shot dsc-t20

Well, it seems that this is either a manufacturing defect or a defective/sub-standard part being used in the product. It would do Sony well to address this problem immediately so that all of us Sony lovers would continue to believe in their products. If this can be solved via a firmware upgrade then I hope Sony can guide us through it.

Casio Exilim EX-Z60 Start up and screen problem

This is the lens focus gears. They are either knocked out of alignment, or debris has jammed them.

P850 shuts itself off for no reason

Try using a liquid contact cleaner. I read about this fix on another site, worked great for me.
A product called DeoxIT in the U.S. is what was suggested, I am in Canada and can't get that here so I picked up a product from a company called NexxTech. Just a liquid contact cleaner.
Take out the battery of the camera. Put a few small drops of the contact cleaner on the power button and let it drip down into the switch. Rotate the on/off switch back and forth 5-10 times, put the battery back in and Voila! Fixed!
No more random on/off irritations, camera works just like it did before the problem arose a few weeks ago.
It worked great for me.
Good Luck!

Since your camera is still under warranty, best thing will be calling Sony's appropriate service center for their assistance. Good luck!
