The key switch has a loose connection somewhere. Moving the key around gets it to make the connection but the vibration of the treadmill will eventually loosen the connection again. If it is a new treadmill it is a defect. If you have had it for some time it is just wear and tear.

You best approach is to try to get warranty support or professional service to repair or replace the faulty switch.

If all else fails you can try to open it up and try to fix it but you would need some electrical experience and maybe a multimeter. Whatever you do here make sure that the treadmill is unplugged and has been off for 30-minutes before you do anything.

I wish I could be more help. Good luck!

I have a GE Profile dryer that stops 10-15 minutes into cycle. Seems to happen at almost the same amount of time in. It stops and Start/Pause light is flashing. If you hit button , starts for a few se

take a multi meter and check ffuse, thermistor, etc, etc behind the back of the dryer. Take the back off, you'll see a few little parts with wiring going to them. Take off one after another and use the multi meter in "ohms" mode to see which little part has "zero" ohms when you press the red and black points on each side of those little parts. If it has a reading of 4.6 or 7.9 or whatever, put it right back on and ncheck the next one. When you find one that shows 0.0 or 0.01 or next to nothing, zero, go buy that part and out it back on. It could be the timer fuse, the actual timer back there, the element, but you can check all those little things, like about 5 or 6 of them are back there total, with a multi meter. Then either go ton a supply house in your area or order it off amazon/ebay. Thats all you need to do at this point so far.

I have to move my steering wheel a little before it can start

Do you mean that the key will not turn until you move the wheel a bit? That is normal, the effect of the steering lock when the ignition is off.

If the key does turn, but the car will not start unless you wiggle the wheel at the same time, you have a loose or broken wiring connection, or frayed wire, around the ignition switch somewhere.

The TV was working en shut him self off. Wont start now .

This may be caused by convergence IC's being defective and some resistors around them not being the proper values.

I have repaired another Hitachi model Rear Projection TV that would start up and click click click and flashing red light, then replaced the convergence IC's STK392 series and a few burned up resistors and good as new :)

You will have to be handy with a soldering iron to complete this task, and there is a kit you can buy also http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/60sbx78b/ it comes with everything you need and even teach you how to solder if your not already good at it.

Hope that helps

I have a 96 pontiac grand am that doesnt start all the time

Starting Problem # 1: Engine Won't Crank At All

Scenario: You turn the key, but nothing happens: And by nothing, we mean there is no dash light, no sound, nada. The first thing you should do in this case is to pop the hood and check the battery. Either the battery is completely dead or there's a wiring problem in the starting system. Try jump-starting the battery. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to call for assistance.

Scenario: When you turn the key, you hear a rapid clicking sound, and the dash lights dim. This is your classic low-battery symptom. Jump-starting the battery should get the engine to start. However, if you keep experiencing this problem, you could have a bad battery or alternator, or it could be something as simple as a loose alternator belt. Take your car to a mechanic just as soon as you can.

Scenario: When you turn the key, the lights on the dash come on, but you don't hear anything. Make sure you have the shift selector all the way in park. Move it out of park and then back, or try starting it with the shifter in neutral. If your car has a manual transmission, make sure you have the clutch pressed all the way to the floor. If that doesn't help, you can try jump-starting the battery, but it probably won't work. There's a good chance your car has a bad starter or a problem in the starting circuit. That could mean a problem in the ignition switch, neutral safety switch or starter solenoid.

Scenario: The dash lights come on when you turn the key, and then go right out, and the engine doesn't crank when you turn the key to start, But, the lights slowly come back on when you release the key. This is another classic: the bad battery connection. When you turn the key to start, the starter pulls so much current that it breaks the connection. Then, when you release the key, the connection slowly comes back. The connection provides enough power to turn the dash lights on, but not enough to crank the starter. Cleaning and tightening the battery terminals may fix this problem.

Scenario: When you turn the key, you hear a single, hard clunk. Turn the headlights on and try again. Do the lights dim slightly when you turn the key? If so, you probably have a bad starter or a seized engine. If the headlights don't dim at all, or just barely dim, there may be a connection problem between the starter solenoid and the starter itself.

Scenario: When you turn the key, you hear a loud, scraping or grinding sound like metal on metal. The starter drive is bad, or the ring gear on the flywheel damaged, or both. You may get the starter to engage if you try turning the key a couple of times, but let go of the key right away if you hear the noise again. If the car does start, you should drive it right over to local repair shop and have the problem fixed.

Starting Problem #2: Engine Cranks but It Won't Start

Scenario: The engine seems to crank normally, but the engine doesn't even sound as if it's trying to start. Is there gas in the tank? Gas gauges are notoriously inaccurate. If you have to move your head to one side to get the needle to move off empty, try adding some gas to the tank.

Scenario: When you first turn the key on, you don't hear the fuel pump run. In cars with electronic fuel injection, you should hear a light hum a few seconds from around the fuel tank. That's the electric fuel pump running. If you don't hear the fuel pump run for a couple seconds when you first turn the key on, try cranking the engine until the oil light goes out. That may start the pump running and allow the engine to start.

Scenario: The engine cranks normally, and it sounds like it wants to start, but it won't. You may have flooded the engine. Hold the gas floor and try again. (Let the gas pedal up when it finally starts). If it's raining out, the ignition system may be wet.

Scenario: The engine cranks unevenly in a repetitive-sounding pattern. You may have a bad timing chain or timing belt. Call a tow truck and have it towed to the repair shop.

Starting Problem # 3: Engine Starts but It Shuts Off

Scenario: The engine starts right up, but shuts off as soon as you release the key. This is the classic symptom of a bad ignition switch. A new switch should fix it.

Scenario: The engine starts and runs, but when you put the transmission in gear, the car lurches and the engine shuts off. The converter clutch in the transmission torque converter probably is engaging when it shouldn't. On some cars, you can bypass this by disconnecting the torque converter clutch solenoid; but unless you know which wire to pull, forget about it. Call for assistance.

Scenario: The engine starts and runs, but seems to idle slowly and stalls when you come to a stop. This probably is a fast idle problem. When the engine is cold, it's supposed to idle a little faster than normal to keep the engine running. You may be able to drive using two feet until the engine warms up: one on the gas to hold the idle up a little and the other for the brake. However, don't keep driving it this way. Take your car to your repair shop just as soon as you

Have a 1 Bamr remote starter in my 2005 Dodge Dakota. Just started to have problem. I start the truck and it starts and shuts off in 2 seconds. Tried both remotes and it does the same thing.

This sounds like you are having a transponder problem. The transponder is a chip in the key that the truck reads in order to let it start and stay running. You should have a red dot or a key light on your dash. If you find it and when you go to start it with the remote start and the light flashes then that is your problem. Most problems are fixed by moving the ring that is around the key cylinder until it finally works.

Took the carbs off toclean them out because it started to run little rough then run pretty good then run a little rough i thought cleaning the carbs would fix the problem i don`t what happened went to...

I would say if you have not messed with the adjutments on your carbs , they are prob ok.
It sounds like if you drain your fuel, tank, all filters, what is left in the carbs
will work it self out, you can remove and drain either way. Go buy new spark plugs and filters
Charge your battery to full charge slow trickle while you working on the other . I am confident that you will be happy with the results .

Engine will randomly shut off while driving at various speeds, sometimes while idling. also security system often does not work, and sometimes activates itself and sounds alarm.

1993 Mitsubishi 3000 GT stalls for no good reason, you never really know for sure exactly when it’s going to happen. It might start up right away, or after a few cranks. It may be hard to start in the first place. This could be caused by a faulty ignition switch, and could be easily repaired.
.5- If the engine cranks but wont start, hold the key firmly pressed inward or frontward while trying to start.
1- If the engine starts: energetically jiggle the ignition key back and forth while the engine is running.
2- If the engine stalls at any time while doing this, then you may have a defective ignition switch.
2.5- Remove the Ignition key from the ignition.
3- Remove the four screws from underneath the steering column cover.
4- Hold the lower half of the cover with both hands and pull it apart from the upper half. You might have to use some force to overcome the locking tabs, you might have to tilt the steering wheel up or down to remove the covers.
5- Insert the ignition key back into the key cylinder (ignition switch)
6- Turn the key to the on position (don’t start the engine)
7- Move the key in and outward while observing the opposite side of the key cylinder
8- If the opposite end of the key cylinder moves even a little, while moving the key; then the wiring side of the ignition switch has popped out of the key cylinder and needs to be secured back into place. (You don’t have to replace the key cylinder)
9- Press the wiring end of the key cylinder inward and tie it down firmly with a strong nylon zip tie.
10- This should take care of the problem.
10.5- Remove the ignition key.
11- Reinstall the removed parts.

Don’t use a rubber band to tie down the loose ignition part; it will break-off when the ignition switch gets hot.
