Wireless cam to camcorder input

Have JVC GR-DLV510 camcorder, about 5 years old, wondering if it has passthrough for using analog signals and if so where can we get a cable? Looking to connect to LYD wireless camera (info on box rc211, cm203, color. audio, cmos, ntsc) the wireless camera receiver has RCA connectors and the camcorder has IEEE1934, 4 pin for audio in&out. Camera is on a RC helicopter and would like to use the camcorder outside at the field. Not looking to spend too much $$ (wife is watching). Thanks for any help.

If you have a laptop available, and if it already has IE1394 Firewire compatiblity, then that would be your best option. I do not know of any direct (inexpesive) pass throughs to do what you ask. There is not an adapter like that, nor does Firewire technology allow it.

Meaning, the laptop would be the recording device (digital). If you don't have a Firewire (IE1394) port on your laptop, then cards are available for 50 to 100 usdollars.

Actually, you need an RCA card for your laptop, as that is the connector type for your Wireless receiver, my mistake.

You could get a power inverter for your automobile, and hook up a plain old VCR with RCA inputs, and use that to record.

I realize that is not what you are asking, but it may be the easiest option. Let us know!

How can I transfer from my JVC GR-FXM40EK to PC?

JVC GR-FXM40EK is analog camcorder that can not be connected directly with computer because computer needs digital video format to save the file so connect USB 2.0 Video Capture Device in computer and plug camcorder AV wires in that device that will digitize the AV signals of analog camcorder and computer will save it in your selected folder on hard disk.
Hope this will help.

I just recently got a JVC GR-SXM37 Camcorder from a family member and i was wondering if this thing connects to my computer?

No, not directly.
You would require an A/D Converter box.
Use analogue cables to connect to the A/D Converter inputs and a firewire cable to the output that goes to the computer.
There are 4, 6 and 9 pin firewire connections these days so you have to determine what the various equipment uses.

I can't seem to transfer my videofrom my jvc gr-sxm540 camcorder to my pc. I do not know how to do it

You can get videos from this camera, or any analog video source, into a computer. You just have to play them into an analog video interface port. These are available as expansion slot cards for a PC. They will come with drivers and probably software to digitise the video input and record it to a file. Lots of third party video editing software will also be able to accept the input from this kind of port. You don't need any "driver" related to the camera, it is just a video signal source. The connecting leads will be standard RCA signal plugs, like the ones you use to connect to a TV or VHS recorder. You probably already have a lead for this.

You cannot connect an analog camera to a USB port. The signals are completely different. There are no cables available to join these incompatible connectors together.

Downloading Video to my Computer from a JVC GR-SXM920

You need a video capture card that supports analog inputs. Connect the video and audio out jacks from the camera to the computer. You will need some sort of software also. The Movie Maker software that comes with Windows XP would work.
The little cord that came with the camera will not transfer the video.

My camcorder

You can transfer video from the camera to your pc by using an i.Link connection if your camera has it or you can use the supplied usb wire to connect it to your pc and transfer the video that way. If you do not have the cord it is easily obtainable at any camera repair or sales store.

No analog input option on my camcorder menu!!!!!

analog input are those using RCA plug or mini headphone plug, so if you are making no connections to this ports, maybe its off. Or an option to switch between digital and analog and selecting digital input would turn off analog input.

LCD Screen failed; JVC GR-AX710 VHS-C Analog Camcorder

Many camcorders of different manufacturers have had CCD chip failures. Unfortunately, JVC only offered free repairs until Oct. 1, 2007. Canon still is honoring their service bulletin.

I would still contact JVC and try to get in on the free repairs if it were me.

Good Luck,

Gary
