This is probally in your upper gear assembly and if you bring your head into your pool store they can chesk the whole unit out and will usually do so for just the price of the parts needed.

My Hayward pool cleaner turns to the left in a circle until it stops moving

There are several things that could be causing this problem with these pool cleaners. First, check your water flow valve. Improper water flow to the cleaner (too little or too much) could cause this problem of going in circles. It could also be a partially blocked throat, worn shoes, or worn flaps.

My pool vacuum just goes in circles and my other one same make is getting stuck on the pool walls

With these automatic pool cleaners, if they are going in circles, it could be one of a few problems. First, your water flow might be functioning incorrectly. Check the water flow gauge and make sure that is coming out evenly. Adjust if necessary. Also, make sure that you do not have a worn shoe or wing on one side of the cleaner. Also, make sure the navigator throat is not obstructed on one side. The same problems could be preventing it from climbing, but for that problem, you will also want to check that the hose is not too short and that the tension in the rear flap is correct.

My hayward navigator just moves in a circle. I picked up the navigator and saw that one of the paddles is not moving. When i pressed down on the paddle that was not moving it starts moving but as soon as I...

It wouldn't hurt to replace the pods (paddles). Also, the wings, flaps, A-frame, turbine, feet(shoes) and the gearbox. All of these things wear and should be done about every 12-18 months, as needed. Before you do any of this, though, try tightening the screw on the pod that's not working. These screws need to be very tight.

Navigator Pool Cleaner: My Hayward pool cleaner just goes in small circles...

Check all of the following. Ones of these issues is probably causing your pool cleaner to go in circles. Let me know if these soultions don't work and I will be glad to offer more solutions, but I a think one of these might solve your problem:

1. You might not have proper water flow. Too much or too little pressure will cause this to happen. Check the pressure with your flow gauge and adjust if necessary.

2. Check for a partial blockage of the navigator throat. If you have a blockage, it could disrupt the movement of your cleaner. Clear blockage if necessary.

3. Check the shoes and wings. Damage or wear to them can disrupt your patterns of cleaning. If you notice that your shoes or wings are worn, replace them to correct the problem.

4. Check to make sure that your hose is not twisted. It should be clear of kinks, twists, and knots. Untangle if necessary. Laying the hose out in the sun will make it more pliable and easier to untangle if you need to do this.

5. Other things that could cause steering issues: check and clean the rear screen, check to see that the cone gear is is free and rotates smoothly, clean/replace/repair gear box, check pod connection, and check turbine and spindle assembly.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need clarification or additional help!

Hayward navigator floats in pool.

Try setting it at 10 lbs of vacuum, see if that works.

Hayward pool cleaner just goes in circle

If these automatic pool cleaners are moving in circles, it is usually an obstruction in the connection hose. Check the hose to make sure that there are not any knots or kinks that might not be immediately visible. Also, check to make sure that you don't have a partial blockage in either the cord or the throat. You will also want to check the return to make sure it is not allowing too much water to get to the cleaner. You might need to adjust the rear tension flap. Too much tension could cause the cleaner to go in circles. Finally, make sure that the wings and shoes are properly installed.

Pool cleaner only goes in circles; doesn't clean the whole pool

could be a number of problems. The most common problem is the turbine bearings have failed. You will have to disassemble it to check them. A fix is a turbine kit with A-frames. This kit has all the moving parts excluding the turn valve. If your cleaner is going around in circles and twisting the hose, its likely you have a bad bearing or so on either the turbine, a-frames or both.
