Hello, have your bearings checked, also axles too, my niece had same problem with her dodge, it a 97, her axles were pretty worn out, also the bearings were pretty worn, when she put in 4-wheel drive axles were moving a little, and wore the seals out, while you are not 4-wheeling the front axles were stationery, untill she went riding, then they would leak, after she went 4-wheeling, that was the only time they would leak

JUST HAD RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING REPLACED ON MY 1998 DODGE RAM 1500 4X4 DROVE 50 MILES NOW THE AXLE SEAL IS LEAKING WHY

Can't remember if your axle is set up like the ones on a Jeep (too many cars stuck in my head) but if it is, the seal is on the inboard end of the axle and easy to forget it's there. If you don't lift the axle so it goes through the center of the seal when you put it back in, it will push the seal out and cause a leak.
If that's the case, whoever did the work needs to make it right. (carrier needs to be removed as well as the axle, to replace the seal)

On my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 2WD, I just found

This is a very simple job to do. Raise the front of truck off the ground, block the rear tires. Using pliers and a hammer, remove the grease cap from hub. Remove the cotter key and nut from axle, pull out slowly and remove outer bearing. then remove hub from axle. To remove inner bearing ,prop hub on a board and use a large punch to drive out bearing and seal. Clean out inside the hub and install new bearing and seal. Replace all parts in the reverse as you took them off. Hope this will help you.

Four wheel drive wont engage. Tranfer case is

Sounds like you either have a vaccum leak or your 4 wheel drive actuator is not working to engage the front differential. On my 98 ram there is a black and red plastic lines that are used for the vaccum lines. They are underneath and go from the transfer case to the front axle, check to see if one or both might be cracked or broke completely. If the lines are good then it could be your actuator on the front axle. A new one is about $93 at advance auto parts and not very hard to replace

Im slowly leaking differential fluid.

Definitely replace both axle seals at the same time. It will save you time and money in the long run. When the axles are out be sure check for wear on the axles where the bearings make contact.
