I have a toro 526, the drive train will not operate the wheels, chains intact what could be the issue

The friction disc could be worn out.

First, an explanation of how the friction disc wheel works

Should you end up needing to replace one, see the posted video below which refers to replacing one on an older Ariens. I know the information won't translate identically, but the friction disc operation of most 2-stage snow blower are pretty similar so it may help you still.

Sounds like something is broken. Even a shear pin in the drive wheels would do it. Get it repaired before more damage is done. Also check drive belts.

Honda hs55 when handle depressed blower fan moves at fast speedauger turns very slow.if auger makes contact with snow auger and blower fan stopsnew belt was installed no slippage of belt present

I suspect that all is needed is a little adjustment of the rod attached to the handle, which hooks on a lever at the bottom of the snow blower drive axle case. Try adjusting the nut two turns, that will pull the rod a little bit more and engage the rubber faced drive wheel, giving it a snugger connection. If this has been checked or still does not help, then I would check inside the case where the drive axle is located. There is a rubber faced drive wheel (as noted above), that runs against a smooth flat metal pulley. The rubber on the drive wheel could be worn out and not engaging properly. I would also check on the front of the case where you installed new belts to make sure that the brake shoe puck that connects to the auger pulley is not binding or perhaps has flipped out of its normal location.

When snow is the least bit wet the blower won't pick it up and it gets cloaked in the shut. Will spraying the shut with WD40 or PAM eliminate this problem?

it sounds like you have a pretty small snow thrower, Here in northern michigan anything less than a 8 horse power will not work except on light fluffy snow. To answer your question, Yes that might help. any thing that reduces friction will make it work better. I really need a little more info before I can be of help on this. can you tell me what size (width) the blower path is, the horse power of the motor, the make of the device and also, is it one or two stage. when I hear back from you I'll try to be of more assistance.

Snow thrower won't throw snow

the problem could be the snow is to heavy for the motor to keep up, if thats the case you may need to upgrade to a more powerful model or try not to overload it. take it a little slower so the motor can keep up. but try tightening the belt. with your pointer finger push down on the belt it should have about a half inch give, if it moves more than that its too loose and probably slipping under load
