Lift up the 2 keyboard panels and press data registration and press set. scroll down using down arrow to RX settings and press set scroll down to turn ringer on and set the ring count to 3 and set and press stop a few times.

NO--- Check Gear Ratio On Tag Or Tube--Front and Rear Are Not The Same. Or Count Teeth On Pinion And Ring Gear--Divide Pinion Number Into Ring Gear Number For Ratio.

  3. Use the up and down arrows to select Fax Settings Press OK
  4. Scroll down to Incoming Ring Press Ok
  5. Set Ring Count

Can I change the ring count for voice mail to three instead of 2 or 4 OR6


Sorry you cannot set ring count for voice mail to 3.

It has settings to set for 2,4 and 6.

Change number of rings before answering

Change the ring count on the fax when the receive mode is set to Fax/Tel or FaxOnly modes. Change the ring count on your answering machine when it is connected to the fax and the receive mode is set [Ans mc connect] (Answering Machine Mode).
  1. Press the <FAX> button to enter the Fax menu.

  2. Press the <Menu> button.

  3. Press the left or right arrow button to select [Maintenance/settings], then press <OK>.

  4. Press the left or right arrow to select [Device settings], then press <OK>.

  5. Press the up or down arrow to select [FAX settings] (item <1>), then press <OK>.
6. Press the up or down arrow to select [RX settings] (item <3>),
then press <OK>.

7. Press the up or down arrow to select [Incoming ring], then press

8. Press the up or down arrow to select [ON], then press <OK>.

Note: The default setting is [OFF]
    1. A window will appear displaying the number of rings before the machine will answer. Press the up or down arrow to select the number of rings (from 1 to 30 rings).
    2. Press <OK> to set the number of rings.
9. Press the <Stop/Reset> repeatedly to return to Fax standby

I want to extend the number of ring tones before the fax answers on a Canon MF-4140 multi function Please

u press the man's head and go to fax settings with the arrow,press ok and go to rx settings,press ok,go to incoming ring,ok,it should be on,press ok,says ring count,press ok,and press the nr of rings u want!Good luck!

How do I set the phone to ring 5 times before going over to fax?

Press Funktion,Dataregistraion,press ok,Usersettings must be on the display,scroll with the arrows until you get RX settings press ok,scroll with the arrows until you see "incomming ring" press ok and change to yes if it was set for no.The next step it will ask you for ring count press ok and set it for 5 press ok again.

Press dataregestration,use the arrow to go to rx settings,select rx settings with the set button,go to incoming ring,select and switch it to on,and then cange the ring count to the amount of rings you desire.
