A sign saying "Please Wait. Thank you for your Patience" appears on the screen when the TV is turned on. It has always done this. I have to turn it off and on before it will actually bring up a picture. The time for waiting is getting longer and longer.
I thought it had something to do with lack of a cable or satellite connection. But now I have satellite service and it is taking up to 30 minutes for the TV to actually tune in.
I've taken it to a repair shop and they don't have a clue. Please help me.

The set is trying to auto program the available channels and it can't find any because since the change from analog to digital [FEB 2009] broadcasting requires a "converter box" to translate the digital signal back to analog. Check around and see if you can find a converter box. They were available for $20 with a coupon, maybe they still are. Try an electronics shop or dealer for that info.

I think you have a vertical problem. Turn up screen voltage to see if there is a tin horizontal line across screen. If so replace vertical output IC and the 100uf/35v capacitor in the vertical circuit.
Mine did exactly the same thing. Sound went out then the blank screen and the message. I was told by Toshiba Tech Support that this message is only set up in the channel scanning area. He suggested a "soft boot" (meaning unplug it and replug it. Did that and nothing. Did anyone solve their problem? Scott email@example.com
