Not able to print, keep saying 1 document on pending. I have deleted everything and still no able to print. scanner, copier and fax is working normally.

Your document is stuck in the printer queue. Usually you can fix this by shutting down the printer completely and disconnecting the power connection then starting over. Depending upon your computer and the software you are using it may be possible to have the computer empty the queue

Keeps printing copies of what i copied last week and won't copy what i want this week

((make sure you have the printer turned off)) otherwise you it might print another page if you have multiple prints in the queue you will have to open a file that you are about to print click ok a page will open with a display print queue tab you can see all prints right click on the ones you don't need select cancel
it will be in the print queue where you can stop it printing right click to delete what you are printing you might have to uninstall the printer then reinstall to adjust your print settings

or just go into your printers settings to alter/change the settings

hope this helps

My printer does not respond when I try to print

  1. Check all your connections first.
  2. Open up printers and faxes and see if the printer is labeled 'ready'.
  3. Look to see if you have pending documents by double clicking on the printer icon.
  4. If the printer has simply started to hang then try rebooting the computer and resending the print jobs.

What to do
Open the Printers or Printer and Faxes folder and locate the correct printer icon. To do this:

    1. -In Windows XP, click Start > Settings > Printer and Faxes (or Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes).
-In Windows Vista, click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers.

    2. Right-click on the printer icon, and click Set as Default Printer. A check mark displayed above the printer icon now identifies it as your default printer.

    3. Try printing again.

Topic 3: Printer is "Offline"
The printer is set to Offline and the printer icon appears washed-out. See the image below for an illustration.
pattlnk_1132009_022-enus32058ofln.jpg
What to do
Open the Printers or Printer and Faxes folder and locate the correct printer icon. To do this:

  1. -In Windows XP, click Start > Settings > Printer and Faxes (or Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes).
-In Windows Vista, click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers.

  2. Right-click on the printer icon, and select Use Printer Online.

  3. Try printing again.

Topic 4: Printer is not Ready
The printer is in an "Intervention Requested" state (e.g. paper jam, paper out) but no Windows print error notification message is displayed.
Explanation
The print job cleared the print queue. This means the print queue icon has disappeared from the notification area ('systray') of the task bar. The printer is holding the job, however, until the the printer is returned to a ready state.
What to do
Check the printer LCD, or operator panel menu, to verify that the printer is in a ready state. If not, return it to the required status.
Topic 5: Printer is Paused
The printer or print queue is paused and the print queue icon remains in the notification area ('systray') of the task bar.
Explanation
This is typically an end user error. Dragging the mouse cursor over the print queue icon in the notification area will reveal (1,2,3) document(s) pending for (User name).
What to do

    1. Double-click on the print queue icon to open the print queue. (This may also appear as a small printer icon in the lower-right notification area of the task bar.)
    2. Click on Printer in the upper left-hand corner of the menu bar.
    3. Is there a check mark next to Pause Printing?

-If yes, click on Pause Printing to turn off this Windows feature.
-If no, confirm that there is a check mark next to Set As Default Printer and make sure Use Printer Offline is not selected.

Topic 10: Windows Print Spooler Issue
A problem with the Windows print spooler is preventing successful printing.
What to try
Stop and start the Windows print spooler. To do this:

  • -In Windows XP, click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, click on Print Spooler, click on Stop the service, and then click on Start the service.

  • -In Windows Vista, click Start, type services.msc in the Start Search box, and then click services.msc in the Programs list. Right-click on Print Spooler, and then click Stop. Finally, right-click on Print Spooler again, and then click Start.

Remove the first print job from the print queue. To do this:

  1. Double-click on the print queue icon to open the print queue. (This may also appear as a small printer icon in the lower-right notification area of the task bar.)

  2. Click on the first job listed so that it is highlighted.

  3. Click on Document in the top menu bar.

  4. Click on Cancel.

  5. Click Yes when you see: "Are you sure you want to cancel the selected jobs?"

Topic 11: Other Issues
Other possible causes of a print job not printing include:

  • -USB connection problem if locally connected only.

  • -Firewall issues preventing communication.

  • -Workplace virtual private networks (VPNs) preventing communication. VPN tunneling may be required to ensure successful communication. Enabling this feature may require network administrator approval and assistance.

  • -Document formatting.

  • -Driver settings.

  • -Application-specific issues relating to the application's Printer Setup.

Topic 12: Last Resort
If you have tried all of the above suggestions to no avail, try the following:
  1. Reboot your computer and try printing again.
  2. Turn the printer off and on, and then try to print again.
  3. Install a different printer driver, e.g. PCL, PostScript, HBP, or XPS driver.

How do i get printer working

Hi,

Are you able to print test page from Printer ?
This will help us diagnose and isolate the issue further
To print self test page ( Demo page ), do these steps below

Press the right arrow button simultaneously. It should start printing the demo page.
If this works fine, this could possibly be an issue related to print jobs stuck in queue.

To clear print job stuck in Queue
Click on Start button
Click on Control panel
Click on Printers and Faxes
Check for HP Laserjet Printer icon
Right click on the printer icon and Click Cancel all documents
Once you have done the above step, disconnect the printer from PC ( if using usb ) or turn printer off

Restart your PC/laptop
Check under printers and faxes folder if the Printer status shows Ready and 0
You are ready to print

Printer is not working. There is no error light on and the ready symbol light is on. Nothing willnot print

Have you checked if there are any Documents Stuck in Queue to print ? ( under Control panel - Printer and faxes folder )

Click on Start button
Click on Run
Type SERVICES.MSC and click ok
look for Print Spooler in the list
highlight Print Spooler,
Click on STOP button then click on START
close the window and check if the print queue is gone. ( Refresh the Printers and Faxes folder )

If this does not fix the issue :

Alternate method,

Click STart
Click RUN
Type Cmd ( or COMMAND ) and hit enter
In the black window type
NET STOP SPOOLER ( hit enter button )
Type
NET START SPOOLER ( hit enter button )

Repeat the Stop and START Command 4-5 times
End the Command with NET START SPOOLER

Open Printers and faxes folder - Refresh the Window - the printer will show Status ready with 0 document

Printer in pending mode. how do i get it to print?

The print is waiting for something before it can print what is stored in the “print queue” (memory) The normal things that can cause this is the wrong size paper loaded or a interlock door is opened. You did not give us a model number so it’s hard to tell.

Do you know what is in the queue?

You could just power down the machine to clear the memory. BUT if your machine is a multifunction (with a FAX) and there is a chance that it’s a FAX that is in memory you will loose it!

Epson CX3650 - local copy works OK, but no print output from PC.PC reports printer is "paused". Have deleted all docs in queue; reset printer; powered down and up again; disconnected/reconnected USB; but...

The problem was solved, or at least made to go away, by running Epson Scan to see if the computer was "talking" to the printer. The test scan was successful and afterwards the printer worked normally and is shown as "ready" on the Control Panel/Printers & Faxes window.

Printer says "Printing" but fails to print

Have you tried re-installing the printer drivers for this particular printer? I would re-install the drivers or obtain the latest drivers from the company's website and try again. Also make sure that it is not your spooler that is experiencing problems, do the following to print "directly" to the printer as opposed through the spooler.

When printing a document ( make sure that queue is completely empty before doing this ):

First Step: Empty the queue
1. Turn off the printer, wait for about 10-15 seconds and then turn it back on
2. This should clear the status of "printing" to "Ready"

Second Step: Change the driver to print "Directly" to the printer
1. Click on Start --> Run
2. Type in the word, "control" ( w/out quotes )
3. Go into Printers & Faxes
4. Right click on the errant printer and choose Properties
5. Click on the "Advanced" tab and choose "Print directly to Printer" and then click OK
6. Try printing again

Another thing to look out for ( and you might have already done this ), is to check to see if the printer is connected securely to the back of the computer, if it is connected via USB...trying plugging it into another USB slot in the back of your computer, and then try to print again.

These are just a few things that you can try, let me know if you have any more problems.

Serge
