It is not the battery. It this the Processor. There quite a few computers with different brands have this problem. Usually the suggested solution is to clean the surface between processor and the processor fan. The excuse is, there is dust and thereby not dissipating the heat properly. But, most of the time this is not going to help. Because, most of us work on the laptop, while it is resting on a table. While we do this the space between the laptop and the table becomes very less. Wen this happens the fan becomes ineffective. The easiest solution is to create a little more space between the table and the laptop there by creating a free flowing ventilation. What I do is keep a CD cover or a thin book (a small one like an appointment book ) under the laptop towards the back without closing the air vent. Or else you can buy something called Notebook Cooler pads, which comes with built in fans which is approximately $15 on line. But then, it drains your battery.

Try removing the battery and re-insert it then plug it and turn it on. If it's not working, try removing the battery then plug it and turn it on again. If it's still not working, you may be having a faulty power supply.

The processor ic is getting to hot, the bottom of the laptop needs to be removed to check the cooling fan is running, dirt will need to be removed from the heat sink fins and fan. The heat sink should be removed to clean off the old thermal conductive paste including the ic, then fresh applied to improve heat dissipation. In most cases this will cure the problem.

It has problems getting it to turn on.. and when it does turn on, it suddenly turns off by itself after 10 to 15 minutes

It could be overheating (due to the failure of a fan inside the laptop) causing the computer to "self-protect" by shutting itself down.

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Purchase a can of compressed air.
Use the air to give a "blow-job" into every air-port in the laptop -- a layer of dust will act as a layer of insulation, preventing the computer from radiating the build-up of heat.

When you turn the computer on, listen for the fan(s) to start running -- put the hairs on your arm near an "exhaust-port" on the PC, to feel if the fans are blowing air out of the laptop.

My laptop turn off, I think it got hot, I can't turn it on now. turn off Sunday

Hi
try this,
unplug dc plug from laptop. remove battery.
wait a few minutes. press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
plug the dc power plug back into the laptop, but do not put battery back in yet. Then try to power on. if it powers on, let it run a few minutes, but best to keep checking to see if it is getting warm or hot anywhere. if it is getting hot shut it down immediately. If it isnt getting hot then shut it down and put the battery back in.

if it doesnt power up, then i would have to suspect heat damage to the motherboard.

How to reset, plug or unplug my engine light on my 2000 dodge caravan?

you may disconnect the battery for a few minutes, but the correct way is to clear it with a scanner. Of course, resetting the light without the proper repairs, its just going to come back on, after the computer runs the tests and it fails.

Xps 1330 producing heat My XPS 1330 use to have some heating problems, untill one day it never turn on againg. Technician told me that I have to change the mother. Could be an "self" overheathing problem...

With your laptop producing to much heat, make sure the air vents on your laptop are free of dust, debris, dirt, etc.

Also even though the CPU fan doesn't run all the time, make sure it is at least turning on now and then. If the fan doesn't turn on at all after say like 15 minutes then the cpu fan might be bad and would need to be replaced.

If your fan does turn on and still overheats then its the motherboard that is bad cause its not regulating the voltage that goes thru the board. This can happen when components go bad on the motherboard. I highly doubt its the lcd screen that causes the overheating cause it doesn't produce enough power to heat up hardly at all.

Toshiba a30 laptop over heating problems

It is obvious that your computer shutdown because it is overheating. try to get a chill mat to place it under computer. you said that it does not shut down when is on battery??? do you play games when is on battery?....computers normally overheat during large processing tasks such us playing video games. Try to fans clear do not place your laptop ontop of your bed or anything that will obstruct the fan under computer.

See if that works

best luck

Laptop wont turn on at all!

Over heating can cause a computer not to turn on, or turn off after a period of time.  You might have some dirt and dust in your fan that you need to blow out with canned air.

You might also try a laptop cooling plate:
