There is no sound or display on my amp but it is getting power because my tuner is pluged in the back and it works

It is possible that you have a blown internal fuse as I think that the AC tuner power outlet is simply jumpered to the main input power to your amp.

Input0, cablecard, sound but no picture

Could be a tuner issue but if not tried unplug set and a box if used from power for a while and then power them back---also do same if using a receiver in the line as well.

Failing that you can get around this (if a bad tuner) by routing signal to a unused rear input, bypass the problem.

Connect with componet cables.

The only digital audio input for this TV will be via the HDMI input. Of course, even with HDMI in, you're only going to get a simple stereo output from the TV. You can use the analog L & R audio inputs for a very similar sound from the TV speakers.

The digital multi-channel audio (Dolby Digital, THX, 5.1, 7.1, etc) encoded in the program should be connected to a suitable multi-channel amplifier with either a TOSLINK (optical), RF (coaxial) or HDMI cable for theatre-like sound. This can be done by (a) cabling from the source (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) directly to a multi-channel amp and speakers, or (b) from the HDMI output of these devices (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) into one or both of the TV's HDMI inputs. This will provide only stereo sound output from the TV speakers. You should connect the TV's TOSLINK optical "Digital Output" jack with an optical cable to the amplifier's TOSLINK optical input jack to obtain theatre sound.

To listen to the program shown, you would select the amplifier input assciated with the optical, RF or HDMI input that is connected to the source (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) if connected directly. If the TV HDMI input(s) are used, they are output to the TV optical output and should be connected to the amplifier optical input. The amp input associated with the optical input should be selected to hear the program with theatre-like sound.

Re: Technics HD51 home stereo system (amp, tuner, CD, and cassette player) - I'm told it needs a pre-amp in order to get any reasonable amount of sound out of lp's on the Linn Sonex LP12 turntable. At the...

The Amplifier must have a high impedance input for the turntable to be connected. Now most of the present day amplifiers do not have this input but only the regular aux input which is designed for a larger signal . But the turntable outputs is quite low and so it requires an amplification of high order. What you can do if you need to play the turntable is to have first a preamplifier with a high impedance which is available even inkit form and can be fitted on to your system. The preamp output can be shared into the input of the source selector maybe with a switch and you willl be able to fix two RCA sockets to accept the input of the phono. This will work fine provided the shielding is done well to avoid the high feedbacck to oascillate and cause noise, the premap must be housed in a shielded cabin. On the other hand you may have to buy a universal amplifier so that the phono input is present. Definetely nothing better than a designed input. So think and decide. hope I could help; Good day

I have a Toshiba cx35e70 tv. The problem began as a turn on, live screen, no channels, no sound. I found that when I would tap on the tuner on the main board the problem would disappear. Every thing worked...

Is the VCR going through ch 3 or video inputs - if video inputs your TV tuner is likely bad if through ch 3 seeif te picture goes funny on ch 3 without using the VCR the tuner may be bad on higher band channels - smetimes you can remove the tuner and resolder the tuner itself. But if it always works with the VCR just use it that way and don't bother with the fix.

Have the tuner signal board replaced. HDMI does not use the regular tuner bands, it is bypassed when using hd inputs.

Speakers are connected to pre-amp or power-amp? pls explain connections , what connects with what , between cd player + pre amp + power amp + speakers.

Do this, CD audio out jacks to the PRE-AMP INPUT jacks, then PRE-AMP OUT jacks to AMPLIFIER INPUTS then from AMPLIFIER to speakers, This will work similiar with any sound source unit ie. Radio Tuner, Tape deck, etc. Just think of it this way, a PRE-AMP is BEFORE the AMPLIFIER, all the AMPLIFIER is going to do is AMPLIFY the sound to your speakers, HOPE THIS HELPS!

No sound coming off tuner,

tongy, When you are trying to use the TV as a receiver, are the RCA jacks disconnected? Sometimes leaving a device connected even though it is not in use will cause the TV to look for the sound from those jacks. Try removing them and if the problem persist, go back through the audio menu settings through the remote control and make sure the source audio is the tuner instead of an external input. Hope this helps.
