Usually this means a hardware failure. I would suggest reseating the CMOS battery overnight to reset the system. Also you might want to replace it as well. It could also be more serious such as a motherboard component failure.
Also IBM error code # 189 according to Scott Mueller's Upgrading and Repairing PC's (8th edition) - "Excessive incorrect password attempts." Is there a password on your CMOS ? Also try hitting ESC key on boot to bypass. Good luck!
ok go to the bios system by pressing esc or F12 or F2 key when the computer restart. After that change the boot sequence. CD drive first after that HDD or follow the instruction that are given by computer in bellow or side, after configure just press F10 for saving.
Do a search for memtest86.iso. Burn this image to a cd and reboot your computer. When your computer reboots it should begin checking your memory for errors. If you still have problems it might be your hard drive.
