Question about Sanyo DRW-500 DVD Recorder
My Sanyo DRW-500 DVD recorder is about 3 years old. I have been getting disc error messages when trying to record on a new disc. Sometimes if i mess with the door a little on the front, then i can get it to work. this issue is becoming more frequent. is there some way that i can fix this? thanks!
Based on your post/description, there is an alignment problem with your disc tray. The unit has to be opened up and checked for mechanical problems. It is possible that some foreign material is preventing full closure of the tray. It is also possible that lubrication in some areas have caked up and rather than provide ease of mechanical action actually prevents its.
Alternately, the laser lens/eye could also be dirty. This could be corrected with the use of a CD cleaner readily available from most computer/audio shops/stores.
Additionally, a can of compressed air can be of big help in cleaning dust and small particles from the crannies and nooks of the mechanism/assembly.
If your concern has not been corrected after completion of the above procedures, you may need to seek the services of a qualified professional.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
