Sometimes the toaster quits working if the thermal oveload relay has been triggered.

According to the user manual, if you let it cool down then it should come back on.

If not, then the first thing to check is if the thermal overload relay has become faulty. Most likely a total open out. you can temporarily bypass it and see if the toaster works. Do not operate microwave part with cover removed.

If you do not have the manual you can download from

http://www.mcappliance.com/document/MCT9E1ST.pdf

Beyond the thermal overload relay the most obvious is the toaster heater itself. There is not much one can do there except replace it.

That is where one has to decide buying a new unit or paying for repairs.

good luck

The toaster or the microwave just stopped working? It just won't heat or what exactly stopped working? Please be as specific as possible.

thanks

Alright, if you have a multimeter than can measure resistance (in ohms), then you should take apart the unit and get at the toaster coils and disconnect them. The resistance at the terminals should be very low (less than 50 ohms). If it reads high or infinite, then they are bad and need to be replaced. You could also check whether there is voltage being supplied to the coils. Either one can determine whether the coils are bad which is the first thing I would check. If you are not electrically inclined, someone you know must be. A multimeter can be purchased from any electronics store if you don't have one.

Let me know how this works out for you.

All works except toaster elements do not heat up. is there a quick fix?

unplug it and let it sit for a minute. then plug it back in. If that does not work, then its not going to be a quickfix. Rather it will be an internal issue with lots of screws and testing with meters.

I have a kenmore microwave toaster. Microwave no heat. table rotates OK and toaster works OK. What is most likely problem, HV diode, capacitor or magnetron?

Could be any of those 3 parts since they work together to make the microwave part work. Most common problem if under 5 years old would be the diode, then capacitor, then mag, but I have replaced mags on new microwave in some cases. Like I said they work together. Capacitors will sometimes swell up at the top or bottom but again not always.. This isn't much help but you need a multimeter and must know some test procedures on this one.

My daewoo microwave/toaster blew my breaker upon resetting it and plugging in the microwave it blew again then it tripped my GFI what could be the problem?

Probably a short inside the microwave circuitry.  I had a Daewoo and had nothing but trouble with it.  Main board went out in a year, then again in another year.  Finally went to Home Depot where I bought it and was told that they had nothing but trouble with them and quit selling them.  Now I have a GE Spacemaker.

Microwave will not heat

If all controls on the panel work fine but the microwave does not heat, then either you have a defective door switch, the smartboard is defective, or you have a defective magnatron. Most likely one of those three.
