Fisher and Pykel DD603 seized sprayer motor bearing??

Master_Tec?
Just received a F& P DD603 SS bottom drawer motor has seized!! Master tec said somewhere in one of the previous posts that he has the sacred manual for these things...and that he can email them!! plse plse.
ewan@gmx.us
when I pulled the impeller and upper motor out of its locked in position under the filter tray the small 10mm bearing seems to be made of the same graffite carbon as the magnet assembly below . I've tried everything to try and free up the impeller shaft on the bearing however if I exert to much pressure I will certainly crush the "bearing" why would they make a bearing out of this material??? To save me buying a whole motor and spray assembly can I just destroy this bearing and turn one up out of bronze or Delron? how will that react to the heat and strong alkaline detergents?

    Master_Tech

just wondering if you had managed to email that Service Manual on the DD603?

    Thank you for your attention.

    bluftonreb,

Thanks for that. we just took delivery of the unit so you can gues I'm a little peived this has happened two weeks after delivery. unless this unit was used as a working floor model?? there shouldn't be any standing water to allow the bearing to seize in the first place?

hoping i can get a manual from Master_tech so i can order the part>>> unless of course you can give me a part # or more info.

did you have to buy a whole new center impeller/motor or can they send the bearing alone ..... let me guess the whole part?

I'm not sure if I'm having multiple failures or just one. Here's how it started, while the bottom drawer is running it seems to be backing up into the top. When I try to run the top drawer it fails after about 2-3 minutes and I get error code F2 (I believe). I hand drained all the water out of the top this morning and dried the top out. On a hunch while the bottom drawer was running I left the top one ajar, no water accumulated in the top. The other thing I've noticed is that the center piece (bright blue) seems to be ceased (sp?)up. So, I'm not sure if this is all related or I have multiple failures. But honestly, I don't know what's going on at all. This seems to be my second major failure, 1st was that I had to replace the mechanism for the seals about 6 months back. I can't afford to keep maintaining this thing....

We had the same problem with seized bearing in the bottom drawer. The problem seemed to be that we rarely used the bottom drawer. We now make sure that the bottom gets used a couple of times a month and that seems to have solved the problem. The bearing uses the wash water for lubrication and it seems that if allowed to set for an extended time it will seize up.

Fisher paykel dishwasher dd603 won"t turn on.

Is the problem with both the drawers or just one.
When you say - will not turn on - does it mean you get a blank display?
assuming mains power is turned on (no problem with circuit breaker), then it is likely the power board at the base of dishwasher (under the bottom drawer) is faulty and needs replacement. Make sure mains power cable is taken out when you work on the dishwasher.

Hi, Oh no!!!!!!, my blade has seized up and left little black bits of the gasket right under the blade in the jar. Can I get this gasket? We bought this absolute AWESOME Blender at the Home Show here in...

The bearing and seal are not replaceable. The bearing is sonically welded into thte base of the jar. The K-Tec is made by Blend-Tec, and any of the Blend-Tec jars will work as a direct replacement.

MY FISHER AND PAYKEL DD603-SS BOTTOM DRAWER IS NOT DRAINING. HOW DO I FIX THIS?

Do you get any error code on the display?

Does the cycle complete or dishwasher keeps running?
Do you hear the pump trying to drain?

Is it happening in all wash cycles or some?

The easiest thing to do is to check if the filter at the base is clean.
I am assuming the kitchen drain is clear because the other drawer seems to work normally.

Error code 136 Fisher & Pykel washing macine

Hi just read your posting. Now Error code 136 means you have a motor stall fault. This means the motor controller cannot start the motor turning.Has your machine been noisy on spin? The things that cause this fault are, seized or faulty bearings, wiring to the motor faulty, faulty motor, faulty rotor position sensor, or faulty motor controller.Do you have or can borrow an electrical test meter ?If the answer is yes I can guide you throe the testing of the components to track this fault done. Please reply with additional information about the spin cycle and if you can get a meter and I will help you further.

DD603H is making a sound like gear wheels slipping.A rattling sound when trying to wash.

HI- Probably the Motor Rotor is bad or there is some glass in the rotor. Remove the large screen in the bottom of the drawer (turn lock-nut counter clockwise) and remove the motor rotor (turn outermost plastic part counter clockwise). Look at the bottom of the rotor, you will see the impellers, these are often chewed-up and rough. If so you'll need to replace the part. Also look the the well you removed it from and check for any glass pieces or debris. You should be able to order this part directly from F/P. Motor Rotor. Hope this helps.

If the controller is faulty then you will not see any life in the drawer unit. The controller is mounted on the front of the unit behind the door panel.

Top drawer stuck, lid lock motor bad and guide bars, if white guides , need to replace with black. Tech said $580 for Fisher Paykel DD603-SS Motors and guides

That's right you will need New Black lid Actuators fitted top and bottom also new retro link supports if you still have the factory plastic ones and maybe a new RFI module if you'd had a F1 fault. Sounds like you've been told this, so now all you need is to get quotes for all these parts to be fitted at a cheaper price. cheers

E-mail for Fisher Paykel DD603 manual

Josh, you will need to have a Tech out to look at it... F/P will not sell you parts to repair it. The F1 indicates that the flood switch has been tripped. There are many possible causes for this but probably the upper drawer link support has broken and is getting stuck between the lid and the drawer in which case you will need a new lid and link support.
