Either the lamp's seams aren't taped over with foil tape to prevent the premature shutdown due to the heat sensors being triggered, or the fan under the the colorwheel has stopped, maybe due to a piece of lamp from a previous lamp explosion being stuck in it, or the power supply/ballast is bad, or the eca on the engine itself is bad. The lamp is the easiest to try first. There should be foil tape over the seam on the side of the lamp you can't see when it is installed. If this doesn't work, take the front bezel off amd get where you can see the fan under the colorwheel and tunnel and power the unit up and see if the fan comes on. If it does thenthe eca on the engine or the power supply ballast is most likely bad and these are major repairs.

INFOCUS Lamp replacement

chances are its the projector itself that you are having an issue with, one more thing that you can do is for you to clean the filters, try cleaning the filters and try reinstalling the lamp, then power it back on, if you are getting the same thing still, have the projector service or if within warranty have it replaced. best i got. Thanks for using Fixya!

Infocus projector powers on the green light

Hi I am Vortash check in your user manual this may be the signal to tell you that the projector is telling you that the number of hours for your bulb is up ( or indeed the bulb may have blown but this usually shows a red light if so ) if the bulb life monitior is at it's extent it wont let the light opperate and you have to reset the lamp hours you can find out how to do this in the manual under replacement bulbs .. if you have no manual you may be able to download one from off the net .from the manufactures support site .alternately you may have a ballast problem and it requires an engineer to sort it out . regards Vortash

InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 no projection. Unit powers on and green light blinks, but no light and no fan, eventually red light blinks continuously about 2 seconds between blinks. When the green light is...

the high-pitched sound is the colorwheel trying to spin up to speed. that may need to be replaced. check the inside of the lamp for bulges, black spots, fogging or flaking. if it has any of those, replace the lamp. you can get parts from an infocus service center or send it to them for repair. either way, try www.avsolutionsny.com they're really good. if you want to replace it yourself, there is a detailed step-by-step on my "tips" area. it's the same as the infocus x1, x2, x3 and sp4805. click on my picture and scroll down to tips. good luck!

Wont light up

the colorwheel needs replacing. if the colorwheel won't spin, the lamp won't light. if you hear a high-pitched whir, the colorwheel works, which means there is a power supply issue. there is a fix for that, but you have to be good at soldering. if you are give it a try: http://www.infocus.com/service/asc/communications/tech_notes/2006/09/tn495g.pdf

Infocus lamp not firing

more then likely the ballast has gone bad and the lamp is not getting the right voltage to fire. Only other thing you can do is remove the lamp the turn the power on and check the voltage at the connector. This will not check the triggering voltage mine you only the lower operating voltage. But since you have replace the bulb with a known good one I'm betting on the ballast is bad.
