It's time to clean the printhead. Use the procedure from the printer status monitor. Try cleaning several times but beware it will drain some extra ink from the cartridges. If the cleaning process will not increase the quality of print, probably you will need to replace the printhead. Before replacing printhead, remove all the cartridges and verify if all four gaskets (seals) are present on the inner bottom of the printhead. Also remove printhead, clean contacts both on the back of printhead and carriage with isopropyl alcohol. Put back printhead and cartridges and let the printer do its ink system initialization process. Then try to print your labels again. If all those attempts fails, replace printhead.

Have an HP Deskjet 3050 and just replaced a black ink cartridge 61 with a black ink cartridge 56. Got an error message that says: "Cartridge problem. At least one of the Cartridges has a problem." Have...

On the inside of the cartridge door is the number of the cartridge you must use in your printer. If you put in another number, the electronic chip on the cartridge will tell the printer what type it is and the printer does not want to work with the cartridge. In the chip the printer also keeps track about the uses of the ink.
If number 56 is allowed too, perhaps another cartridge is empty too.
I think you did remove the pink label from the cartridge before you inserted it. because that label will block the electronic connection between the cartridge and the printer.
The manual explains how you can see what cartridge is causing trouble. When the printer is connected to a computer you also can use the computer to find out.

Color cartridge #78 will not work.The one I took out was a #17.

Hello, if you lift the top cover there should be a little label with the correct ink cartridge numbers that you need to buy. I've got a Deskjet 845c, which is similar to your 840c, and the label shows 17 colour; 15 black. I suspect yours will be the same. No others will work as the printer was designed for those particular cartridges. They are still readily available in the shops or online. If you're in the UK try

10.00.00 supply memory error

The 10.00.00 SUPPLIES MEMORY ERROR is based on the e-label. To clear the error, do the following:
NOTE: If the error occurs, it should appear at beginning of life, causing the error message after first installing the cartridge.
Turn the printer off and on to clear the message.
Put in the old catridge and see what happens.
If OK put in the new one again.
Verify that the print cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge.
Check that the E-label reader is functioning correctly.
Check that there is contact between the E-label chip on the print cartridge and the E-label reader on the printer.
To verify this contact, insert a new print cartridge.
Remove it again.
Check for scratches on the e-label chip and on the cartridge.
If contact is being made, replace the print cartridge (part number: Q2610A).
If contact is not being made, check the toner guides to see if they are in the proper position, or that the cartridge is not damaged.
If the printer has a 500-sheet Tray 3 installed, turn the printer off again and replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge.
Turn the printer on again.
If the error does not clear, turn the printer off and remove tray 3.
Turn the printer on and verify if the error clears.
HP has recently discovered that a 10.00.00 Supplies Memory Error can occur when Tray 3 is faulty.

HP Officejet 7680 is having trouble printing in black. Just put in new ink cartridge.

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel. # Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right). # Continue doing this until it looks clean. # Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing. # Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.
1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier. 2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.
# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Refilling ink cartridge for Lexmark z1480 printer (instructioons)

you need to peel the label off and make a hole in each of the 3 indents. It's quite difficult but if you've managed it with the black then you'll know what I mean. Then using a syringe put your yellow in the top left at the front end of the cartridge, cyan in the top right and the blue one at the bottom. Should take about 20mls or around that each. If you're ever not sure which colour goes where put the syringe into the hole first and try and draw a little of the remaining ink out to check 1st. Put the sticky label or some tape back on.

Compatible ink

Hi, sounds like a faulty ink cartridge, we get this now and again with selling compatible ink cartridges i suggest taking it back to the shop for a replacement wont be the printer as long as its fitted correctly with label removed..
