Problem for RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

No power

I just got my Blackberry and it wont even turn on! It seems like it's charging as there is a greenish light flashing on the top corner but when I push the on/off button the light goes off straight away. The screen doesnt even attempt to flicker when I 'try' to turn it on...

- Hi,
I tried that, still nothing! The starnge thing is, even though the battery doesnt seem to charge (whether its just the screen i dont know) but I hit the voice command button on the side and it talked to me. Still no flicker on the screen, nothing!

take the battery out, wait 30 seconds, reinsert. it should start up on its own. if it doesnt work come back for more help.
