Question about Panasonic Televison & Video
We have a Panasonic Viera plasma TV and when watching programmes there is a high pitched noise which comes and goes, seemingly dependent on what is on the screen. Can't determine the pattern. the noise seems to be coming from the top of the TV, on the LHS when looking at it

SOURCE: Home cinema/Viera link problem
Turn everything off and disconnect from mains.
Wait a few minutes.
Disconnect HDMI cable.
Turn on TV and DVD.
If this does not work use a cable of different spec.
I had the same problem and now mine works .

I suspect you have a bad set of capacitors in the control module. This problem usually starts out as a high pitched noise but can lead to the TV not turning on. Please see the link below, posted by StivO. It gives step by step instructions on how to replace the capacitors. This is a very inexpensive fix.
